Happy Ramdan to you and all celebrating on the forum! Is this when you have your fasting period as well?
I know Iftari which is what you have after the fast? Or is it before? Can someone tell me what the Fast is actually called? I always want to know more about others cultures!
Thanks guys!
Sehri (pre dawn meal)is the meal Muslim eats before dawn and before fajr (1st prayers), you have an hour before fajr to eat and drink, right before fajr muslim stop eating do a little pray and begins fasting. It is said that one should not fast without sehri , sometime people fast without eating sheri and make it a habit which is prohibit in Islam, a day or two is okey but keeping all 30 days without seheri is not advised , one should not think fasting as burden but a blessing, As our Holy Prophet said that eat seheri because there is blessing in it. You dont have to eat a feast for seheri simple glass of water and a date will do it. there is whole science and benefit in it.
Iftari is a meal where you break your fast right after sunset, with something sweet like dates or milk,or water.. this will calm the stomach since during fast Muslims are not allow to drink or eat for whole day.
children, sick people who must take meds 3 times, very old person, women who are going through their cycles, some pregnant women are forgiven and they dont have to fast but all others and healthy people must fast, if they dont that is consider sin.
the whole month of Ramadan Muslim fast and fast called "Ramadan fast" its a month where Muslims can revamp them self and correct their habits, ask for forgiveness and do good deeds, understand someone else feeling and put themselves in others shoes, and after Ramadan for some it become habit to to good for others for rest of their life. Its a learning path where you connect with reality of life, and it gives you a purpose of why you are born.
most important point during this month the devil is in jail on a vacation and the hell doors are closed, so what ever you do during this month is on you... we cant blame devil for it... so its a big exam for Muslims.
I wish we all who are celebrating pass this exam with flying colors Ameen!!😃
