Mowgli's parents are no more. Avni is Mowgli's maasi, who has taken care of Mowgli since his birth. Mowgli's father was Neil's elder brother.
Neil's mother has fixed his marriage with his childhood friend Mitali. Mitali is an insecure woman who does not trust Neil and shamelessly visits Khanna house daily to keep a tab on Neil's activities.
Neil has no interest in Mitali but since he has promised to marry her, he tolerates her antics.Neil meets Mowgli and through Mowgli he comes in contact with Avni and befriends her. Avni is aware of Neil's relation with Mowgli but does not reveals it to Neil due to fear of losing Mowgli.
Through series of incidences Neil learn that Mowgli is his older brother's son. Neil and his family file a custody case for Mowgli and win it. Mowgli is forcibly taken to Khanna house where he misses Avni and falls ill. Khannas agree to let Avni stay with them for Mowgli's sake. Avni maasi and Neil chaachu together take care of Mowgli and start falling for each other.
Mitali senses that Neil has developed a special liking for Avni. To get rid of Avni, she gets Mowgli kidnapped and puts the blame on Avni. Neil does not believe these accusations against Avni and finds Mowgli before Avni is arrested. By this time Neil and Avni have realized that they love each other. Neil proposes Avni but since Neil has committed to Mitali, Avni refuses his proposal.
A heartbroken Neil goes ahead with the marriage. On the day of marriage decides the leave the city as she can't see Neil marrying someone else. In the mandap, seeing Neil's gloomy face and disinterest in the rituals, Mitali calls off the marriage. Without wasting a moment, Neil rushes to stop Avni and then they unite.

Actually AvNeil does not give me parents vibes😆 and a man snatching a child from his biological mother and marrying another woman when the mother of his child is very much alive sounds so insensitive and cringeworthy🥱 so I made up this story so that the situation appears tolerable😆

I understand that Neil is Mowgli's Father, but he should have used his brains and realized a child who lived with his Mother for 9 years and surrounded by other kids and aunt figures would not be happy being uprooted from his environment and transplanted into his! Full stop.

He could have asked for joint custody so the child gets to become more used to him, or visiting rights so he can see the child 1-2 times a week and the child becomes used to the idea of him being his Father and his second family of grandparents etc.

Neil would not be the first man who took a child from his biological Mother and while she is very much there, married someone else and made HER the child's Mother and he won't be the last! The fact is we cant stand it coz it's THE Neil Khanna whom we adored that is doing this. The only man on ITV who was a feminist! If not for Zain playing him, right now I would throw a chair at his face. That is how pissed off I am with him! But even for Zain, I can't contain my full anger. I was telling my husband that Neil got custody of the kid and he is marrying that "B***h" and he laughed. (Yes I told him about the track and he thinks Neil has been wronged). I agree he has been wronged, but two wrongs never make a right!

THAT is why Prakash is not supporting him. He can see that the decision that Neil made was NOT in the best interest of his son. No matter how he justifies it, living with him 24/7 away from his Mother is not what his son needs. It's what HE needs! Yes Avni kept him all this time, but Avni was his prime caregiver and she knows what's best for him. The child is under 10 and very sensitive. Especially forcing Mithali on him is cruel. He just found out who his parents are and instead of them being together for his benefit, they got a divorce and the Father is remarrying and trying to bring him a Rental Mother! The worst part is, his Dad is still in love with his Mom. (Though closeted) and insisting on moving on...Pata nahi kyon, coz it looks like he is asking for more problems, not less! Stupidity at it's worst!

But I like your story. Sounds like a Mills & Boon story! LOL. Also I don't understand this "Bhoot" of Bollywood ending? I know it's a story based on a BW Movie Zakam? But since Bhatt sahab didn't come to direct the last episode, WHY do they have to make it a Bollywood ending and cheat us all of the scenes we wanted to see? Just pathetic. Beyond pathetic! Sorry for the rant. This has been building up for days! I have still not fully come to grips with the fact that this is the last week of the show!

Shaant Mandy ji shaant! Only 5 more episodes and after that the CVS won't be able to destroy AvNeil and their story further.
But I didn't get why the ending is termed as Bollywood style ending😕

Actually the story would even be tolerable if Neil and Mitali had been dating for years or were already engaged. But this is a brand new relationship. Neil had no feelings before until a few weeks/days before knowing Mowgli is his son. So both in real and reel life it should be a relationship he can sacrifice to concentrate on building ties with his son. It's not even about Avni!
