What I feel is that some people are either too afraid to speak up against salman even when he is obviously in the wrong, or they have blind faith in him and see him as an extremely good man. Zain is definitely the latter who can't see the bad in salman, and only see the image salman has created in front of the world for himself, but there is a reason why I have never been a fan of salman for anything besides his movies and performances... because I kind of see through his charitable work, but then again, many actors including govinda have a lot of gratitude for him as they admit that when the entire industry was against them and didn't support them, salman came to their aide and was by their side. It is hard to hate salman or see him as a bad guy who pretends to be good when there are so many celebs who talk about their bad times and say everybody in the industry ignored or stopped supporting them except salman. All I feel is that salman is both good and bad.

Okay so I only just watched the video, and now I understand why some of you are so put off with zain's statement. All I saw was blind fan love and nothing else. It's like nobody is taking salman's crimes seriously because of his fame, power and influence. Even aditi was happy to have him out, but at least she gave a diplomatic answer. I don't know what to say about this other than that zain and neither does anybody else take anything salman does seriously because they all love him.

I do think though it is appalling that the case was stretched so long and given so much attention over the years, as the case should have ended long back with him being proven guilty. It's ridiculous how the Indian judiciary system runs to protect the privileged.

Thanks everyone for your responses.
Many people are Salman fans, we may have enjoyed his movies, he may have helped many newcomers in their career, maybe he is doing humanitarian work now. But that does not absolve him of the punishment for a crime he has been found guilty of by the court. Even if it takes time and that is unfortunate ultimately that's just how it is.
Zain imam is a popular TV actor. He may sympathize with Salman but his statement in this interview reeks of ignorance and honestly plain stupidity! He said salman is being held accountable after all this time to satisfy people's ego! Are you serious dude?!
I had a lot of regard for him...I loved watching his offscreen bytes. He comes across as a nice guy besides being a talented n good looking actor. That's why as zains fan i am interested in his views. Ofcourse they are his personal views...but as a public figure I PERSONALLY think he should have shown some tact and restraint. He could have stopped with saying he's happy to see him out on bail but he spoke too much and in the process today I as a fan have much less regard for him. When we like and follow actors and public people we care about their opinions too. But in future I'll learn to try and keep that separate the reel from the real.

In that regard I feel until now Aditi has impressed me with her tact, maturity n composure at a young age. I hope she doesn't lose that ever because as her fan it would disappoint me if that happened...like today I'm disappointed with zains remarks.

Many people have said in discussions around this case- why so much fuss about this case when there are other more" real "issues like rape n murder...n well that's just unfortunate. It's like comparing apples and oranges. They are all crimes at the end of the day. Each crime has its own magnitude of impact in terms if how it affects society and also in terms of legality and punishment. So to say that discussing this case is a waste of time because its only an animal, animals die and get extinct all the time, etc etc i PERSONALLY think is extremely unfortunate.

ofcourse it's true that this case has received attention because a celebrity is involved but that does not change the facts of the case itself. And yes its taken far far too long for the verdict which is a shame...but thats just how it is in india! we can only hope that things get better.

perhaps salman may have been acquited in this case like others in the past and then nobody would have said anything...his fans could have rejoiced. but unlike the other cases here the fact right now is that he has been convicted and in such a scenario as a fan I expected a more responsible response from a personality who I love and adore. And I feel let down.
This issue affected me so I posted it. Some of you may agree, some may disagree, and some may be indifferent...that's perfectly ok. I'm merely sharing my sentiments on a public forum because I felt strongly about it.That's all.
