ok ive been constantly hearing that Neil character is butchered and so many other things. Here i wish to give my 2 cents on this matter.
first of all 10 years is a very long time and people do change. How do you not expect Neil Khanna cannot change?
yes Neil Khanna is a perfect son and husband and him going and proposing Mitali has got everyone upset but then, what will he do when Avni acts stubborn
lets take it from the beginning!
Neil wanted to marry Rhea even though he had attraction towards Avni. ok we can take that as it was before marriage. even during that time Swetha pushed Neil. good that he was in right mind to take right decision. but then knowing about Avni and DVM's truth Neil wanted to help Avni out so he went to the extent to marry Rhea by setting up fake pundit so that he could make the marriage Null and Void. if not Neela maa swapped Avni in the place of Rhea he would have married Rhea and executed the plan. Neil chose to stay with avni for the sake of Neela maa.
2nd time he wanted to bring Avni's sautan and najayaz kid Mishti and make them stay in Khanna house in presence of his wife Avni. Avni goes to extent and wanted Neil to masrry Juhi for the sake of Mishti. seeing the depleting lives of Avneil, Swetha, Bebe and Neela maa plans to send her away. even that time Neil was in his right mind because Avni stood by him as his rock!
but 10 years later when Neil found out that the one person he loved dearly, the one person he mourned over for past 10 years comes back, Neil felt betrayed, disappointed. can we blame Neil for that NO! Avni saying sorry to Neil 1000 times, says i left you for yours and your family for their safety and so on, how will that change things? can that bring back those lost years? Neil is disappointed that Avni dint find him trust worthy to tell her problem instead she chose to run. can we blame Neil here No! we cant blame Avni too because she had no choice. how can Neil forgive Avni as such? if only Neil comes to know why Avni left. prakash truth comes out he can understand the really situation. he did ask Avni she could have discussed the problem with him but Avni chose to be mum. can we blame Avni here NO! she cant reveal about Prakash killing Neela ma because that could shatter Neil and his family
coming to present yes everyone is annoyed with Neil proposing Mitali so am i but if you closely watched few episodes you could see untill when Avni breaks Mangalsutra from his hands Neil sticked on to his word as he loves Avni. even that day he said to Avni that he loved her and will always do. it was not him who pushed Avni to go away. that Mangalsutra was very dear to him. it was in his wrist for 10 years. breaking it had literally shattered him making him think that Avni doesnt love him anymore. cant blame Avni also here, upon listing to swetha and bebe talking that Neil should give a chance to mitali and contantly hearing "i hate you" from Neil, Avni thought she has no chance in Neil's life and she wanted him to get out of that sad state so she goes on to brea the mangalsutra little knowing about the consequence. Avni failed to notice the love behind Neil's anger. but note that Avni never wanted Neil to move on with Mitali. Also Avni is already guilty for leaving Neil to mourn for 10 yrs. so when he said I hate you so many times she couldnt read between that statement.
But we cannot blame Avneil here. You all are failing to notice the pseudo villan Swetha. she constantly pushed Neil to marry Mitali. she was the one who shoved mitali in Neil and Avni's head. Neil was calm even got angry with Mitali that she had thought of marrying him, until Avni broke his mangalsutra. Swetha wanted Neil to marry Mitali at any cost because her son is still mourning over the women who has moved on (Avni). both swetha and Mitali made him think that Avni has ffound her purpose in her lie through this children. though they knew Neil and Avni loved each other for their own selfish reason manipulated his thoughts. even today when Neil is in dilemma about marrying Mitali Swetha instead of explaining they belong each other shge pushes Neil to accept Mitali. Neil shouldnt have manipulated this time because that is the ideal Neil we all love. but Avni breaking the Mangalsutra had triggered the anger in him to take impulsive step. Neil is not in his right mind, prakash decided to stay mum for Avni, bebe has no voice and only soul left is Swetha who wants Neil to marry Mitali. in a very devastated state Neil asks his mother whether im doing the right thing or not. swetha's ultimate aim to get Neil married to Mitali. so she says yes and Neil also accepts it thinking that his mother is good. This is anger and agony of Neil.
Neil was just coping up with whatever happened to him ( breaking of Ms) while next day Mitali meets with accident and out of anger he goes on to propose Mitali thinking that Avni doesnt love him anymore and she wanted him to move on,. Swetha and Mitali did not give Avneil breathing space to think about each other. They both were coming close but Mitali and Swetha manipulated Neil's mind
we couldnt connect with Avneil these days because
1. most of the scenes were shot with bd
2. we all are pissed with constant separation track
i dont see Neil's character is been butchered here. he is sad, devastated, betrayed Angry with Avni and stubborn to forgive her. Mourning 10 yrs over Avni;s death has made him weak to think with right mind. Avni had something do in her life like taking care of kids and raising Mowgli. Neil did nothing but to mourn over Avni's death and quit his police job. so that changed him to some extent.
also dont jump into conclusion about custody track as im posting this again Neil cant ask to stay with Mowgli as such to Avni because his ego hurts so he brings in court notice to get Mowgli.
Neil still wishes Avni will come back to him. maybe he wants to know the truth but Avni is stubborn to let out the truth. unless Prakash's truth is out Neil cant forgive Avni.
