Neil sat at his radio station, his mind on Avni yet again, you would have thought by now after all these years of marriage, that he would have been able to move forward but he couldnt, he really couldn't. His whole world revolved around her and her only. "And we have our next caller, hello"
He heard a hiccup and then a "Hi Neil, im bored can you come home"
"Avni, why didn't you just call my mobile"
She hiccuped again and giggled "I am asserting my rights upon you"
Neil promised to come home as quickly as possible, cutting off his station quickly he ran to his car
He wondered why Avni was drunk, she wasnt really one for alcohol, so he figured something had to be wrong.
His heart raced as he drove as fast as he possibly could to see Avni
Eventually parking up, he unlocked the door and stepped in
"Avni" he shouted running through the house, he ran outside to the garden
"Avni"
"Im down here"
Neil released a breath he wasnt even sure he was holding, his voice softened "What are you doing down there"
"Star gazing, join me"
Neil slipped off his jacket and slipped it over her, lying next to her he looked up
"So wifey, why are you drunk"
She took a shaky breath "im scared youll see my flaws"
Neil leaned up on his elbow to see her face properly, his heart clenched when he saw the tears running down her face
"Im never good enough Neil, how long until you see that"
"Avni, come here" Neil held his arms out, she shuffled slowly and led against his chest
"I know you Avni, flaws and all, all of your imperfections are perfect to me"
She looked up sniffing "Really"
"Yes Avni, I could never not love you, now come on cheer up"
His hands were on her waist, tickling her, she giggled "Neil, stop or I will"
"You will what" he asked, raising his brow
Avni jumped up quickly, knocking her head against his chin
"Ill get Neil to beat you up"
Neil chuckled, standing up "I am Neil"
Avni rolled her eyes "Not you Neil, my other Neil, my police officer one"
Neil raised his brow "Whats he gonna do"
"Beat you up" she nodded, so very sure of herself
Neil pouted "So you want me to be hurt"
Avni shook her head, her face falling "Ill kiss it better"
Neil touched his heart "here"
Neil closed his eyes as Avni pulled his shirt to the side and pressed a kiss over his bare chest
"So, still gonna let Officer Neil hurt me"
Avni shrugged "Maybe, depends"
"On what"
"On if you can be a good boy"
Neil put his hand on his ribs as he laughed heartily
Avni scowled "Are you laughing at me Mr Khanna"
Neil put his hands up in defence "Nope"
Avni put her hands on her hips "Because if you are then youre in trouble"
"Now now Avni, lets talk about this"
"No" Avni muttered before shoving Neil into the water
Neil finally came back up, pushing his hair out of his face, unable to move for a second, so taken aback by the beauty of his Avni as she keeled over in a fit of giggles
He climbed out of the pool and approached her
"Haha you're wet, that will teach you"
Neil grabbed her, pulling her close, he moved away a stray hair from her face
"Maybe you should go for a swim to hmm"
Her face paled and she shook her head
"Nope, I love you, dont" she begged
Neil looked down at Avni who held onto him tightly
He tipped her chin up, looking down at her in pure adoration
"Say it again"
"It again" she replied confused
"No, say you love me"
"I love you" she said, sincerity laced her voice
"I will never tire of you saying that, it still makes my heart race" he lifted her hand to his heart and smiled
Avni lifted his hand to her chest "mine to"
Neil picked her up and took her inside, neither worried about their clothes being wet as he placed her on the bed
Neil changed quickly and led next to Avni
She rested on his chest and sighed happily, closing her eyes
"Dont tell ACP Neil okay" she muttered, yawning
"Ill keep it a secret if you do" he promised
"Okay, Neil"
"Yeah"
"Tell me one thing"
"Whats that Avni" he queried
She opened one eye, peering up at him "Why do you smell like chlorine"
Neil rolled his eyes "Just go to sleep drunk Avni or ill tell sober Avni of you"
Avni gasped "You're heartless"
Neil smirked "Thats because my heart is with you"
She couldnt help the smile that graced her face "You can have my heart its okay"
Before Neil could reply she was fast asleep
