Why Neil Being Unable To Forget Avni Makes Sense!

So there has been talk about this both on the forum and social media about how it does not make sense to have Neil unable to forget Avni despite ten years going by and I respectfully disagree with this. When we had our first leap and met Neil he was someone who was still trying to get over someone he loved, for five years Neil thought Juhi was the love of his life and was just ready to marry for the sake of his family. Neil was not looking for love nor did he ever think he would feel the way he did about Avni but it happened, Avni went from being a case obsession to being his life. Avni left that kind of impact on his heart, on his soul and if he can be shown taking five years to move on from Juhi then why should is it hard to believe he would take twice as much time to move on in his life when it comes to Avni? This is Avni and Neil's story and I doubt fans would be happy if he were to be shown ready to give Avni's place to someone else, whether it is for the family's happiness or not. Avni and Neil's story would not hold the same meaning had either Neil or Avni been shown moving on with other people, what we are getting here is an eternal love story between a lead pairing who have defied all odds to be together and are not your typical leads. Neil and Avni's story is such where they do not need to go the cliched route which includes the fear that many have that there is a child in the picture. Why does a child have to be the reason these two get back together? Why can't it be a simple case of their paths crossing again after all these years because destiny wanted that to be the case? A case where feelings that never died are rekindled and they try to pick up where they left off. To me that is what makes their story unique, what is making fans excited about this leap because you are seeing two people who have loved each other truly, madly and deeply. Avni and Neil are two people who have stayed true to their word and their promises to each other, I look forward to what this leap has in store for their pairing.

Ahhh Mandy 👏 👏 👏 I LOVE IT!!!
Since you already know about my stand on this track I don't have to repeat much.

Yes, I totally agree with you. Neil hasn't moved on doesn't make it unrealistic. Personally, I have seen people who keep struggling their whole life behind someone they loved (they might have married someone but they still love someone else because they couldn't move on). In case of Neil, it has already happened once. When Juhi died, whatever he did was for his family's happiness. And then Avni happened. Not only Neil himself, but the family also realizes the type of impact Avni has left on Neil and their lives and hence AGAIN expecting him to move on and getting married to someone else would be too much to expect from him. There is no way the family will pressure him AGAIN. If Neil himself feels like he wants to marry someone, they will support him and do everything in regards to that. And at the end of the day, no matter how much he smiles and fakes his happiness in front of his family, he still wears Avni's mangalsutra on his wrist as her memory. So even though the family sees that he is "happy", they will not skip to notice the bracelet he wears in Avni's memory and will know how much he still loves her!

Yes! Child being responsible for the reunion is too cliched. I agree! The rekindle of their feelings and them crossing their paths again because them being together is what destiny wants is far more non cliched and exciting for me <3

Exactly this won't be like last time because the impact Avni has left behind was not only on Neil but his family as well. The Khannas would not pressurize him to move on when they know Avni was everything to him, they know that cannot get a daughter in law like Avni again. This time around it would have to be Neil who says you know what I am ready to move on but until he says that his family is going to respect his wishes.

You bring up a good point I am sure his family notices the mangalsutra around his wrist, for Neil he is still married and won't move on. He continues to surround himself in memories of his Avni and I love that, he is doing exactly what Avni wanted him to do think of her and smile.

Way too cliched, its happened in other shows and I feel it is unnecessary for AvNeil's story considering the potential here. To throw a kid into the mix makes it seem like they have nothing left to explore for this pairing when the fact is there is so much left to explore before they ever become parents. Neil meeting Avni again after all this time, Avni unable to push him away and them rekindling their romance while trying to keep her identity under wraps until they can clear the Vidyut threat is all good story telling. We can introduce villains later on. I know many desire a light hearted track well here is the CVs chance to deliver, give us those moments of a breather while letting us enjoy AvNeil. It will remind fans of why they fell in love with this show and also continue to show how everyone has evolved. I am really looking forward to this leap.

In addition to the points you've both made, let's think about this:
Neil took 5 years to get over the supposed death of Juhi because of his guilt, not because he loved her. With Juhi it was a puppy love; the first infatuation.

Avni is his one true love. His soulmate. You don't get over that! Clearly what the the CVs are portraying.

As much as I would love to see Pillu in future, I want just that- pillu in the future! Besides, I don't think Avni would be so hypocritical to rob a child of their father's love. she wouldn't let history repeat itself!

Couldn't agree more with you! It is what the CVs are trying to portray and I couldn't be more grateful fro that. This is the same Neil who has said Avni is his life, he cannot live without her so then how could they show him moving on after the leap? It would not matter how much time has passed it would still make one question his love for Avni. This way we are seeing these two are soulmates, how after all this time they are still pining for each other.

Same here! Of course I would love to see Neela's wishes for her babies become a reality but not now. There is still plenty of time before these two become parents, let them enjoy the time that was taken from them and then later on we can see them as parents.

Well written mandy!

They are soulmates..they have loved each other in a such way that even death can't do them apart!

Im in the team that neither neil nor avni should move on..😊they are meant to be together even if far apart. And i like that cvs hasn't ruined that part of the show..they still show neil hasn't moved on😊

Coming to why few said that neil should have moved on is coz they can't bear neil's pain..suffering..for this 10 long years (this number is something that came in a day ago and it'l take time for the audience to settle with it..we can say a number shouldn't make a difference but people had just begun to settle with 5 years and all of sudden it doubling upto 10 is certainly a shocker and would take a couple of days for the audience to accept it)..moreover that is how beautifully neil has been potrayed onscreen that audience can't see him suffering for such long. Avni has faked her death and neil suffering in pain for long without knowing she is actually alive is something heartaching for every avneil lover..This is reason many have come up this.

Thank you guys for posting this. I want to take an opportunity to express a few things via this post-

Firstly, Avni orchestrated her death to have vidyut arrested. its a carefully masterminded plan to make him confess and be put away by neel behind bars forever. So even though neel is wounded with Avni's loss he has closure because he feels he was able to bring justice to her perpetrator and a man he has been after forever. Mishti is a default person she has run away with. Now if she were to come out of hiding, Vidyut would need to be released because then he hasn't committed the MURDER he has been serving for. this makes it a fun and impossible love story to tell... we wanted to move back into that fresh space. and we hope that we have.

yes, fully agree that having a child reunite them wasn't needed. Avni and neel are still star crossed lovers and to our minds far away from being parents... even to mishti.

Rest has been covered by everyone so not much for us to say 😊

Thanks for watching and thanks for loving and hating! Cheers

Same I cannot see neither moving on, not after the story that has been written for both. You are right fans cannot see Neil suffering and knowing its been ten long years but I am glad that won't last long as viewers will get to see Avni and Neil reunite soon, I doubt CVs would drag that given how much fans are looking forward to it. I am hopeful this leap will be a hit.

Thank you for commenting! Exactly Avni's death has nothing to do with Mishti it had to do with wanting to ensure Vidyut could not come out of jail. I'm so glad your team has taken this route it was perfect and I really look forward to the fresh start to AvNeil's love story without the cliched child angle, trust me everything will work out :)

For anybody else who thinks it is illogical for Neil to not have moved on from avni in 10 years... remember shashi kapoor who never moved on from the death of his wife Jennifer Kendal and became increasingly ill after that. I remember crying reading about how he started falling apart both emotionally and physically after her death, which was visible to all. If an actor can be that true to the love of his life that till his last breath he never looked at another woman and withdrew himself slowly, why can't a fictional character like Neil be loyal to the love of his life after her death?
