I dont think Neil not moving on is unrealistic at all. He was never going to move on, and we all knew that. Neil's feelings for Avni WERE and IS the real thing. So that will never change.

"Jab tak yeh zindagi hai...I will always love you. Tumse badkar meri koi aur kwahish nahi hai!" I think that summed it up.

What I objected to was the length of time he had to be in this pain when he never did a thing to deserve this. One guy on Indian TV who never deserved such a fate is Neil! But now that this is the reality, I will accept it, and try to live with it.

I disagree that it took Neil 5 years to move on from Juhi! He had actually moved on when he agreed to an arranged marriage. The only difference was that he didn't know it at the time. He was what like 22 when Juhi so called died? He was just a kid. What he felt for her was that first love, and he elevated it way too much in his mind because of her demise. He was willing to move "forward" with his life for the sake of his family. But this time he won't, not for anyone. That shows this love is not one to move forward or move on from.

We also have to understand, Avni was his wife. He made the ultimate commitment to her. Neil didn't lose his girlfriend, he lost his wife. He is a widower! That is an "official" designation. He lost her in the most tragic way, when he was in the highest high of his love and it was totally cruel. Neil cannot be expected to be "Over" it ever! 5, 10, 15 it doesn't matter! You never get over the Love of your Life, and that is what Avni was to Neil and still is! Simple as that!

I remember crying reading about how he started falling apart both emotionally and physically after her death, which was visible to all. If an actor can be that true to the love of his life that till his last breath he never looked at another woman and withdrew himself slowly, why can't a fictional character like Neil be loyal to the love of his life after her death?

I knew Shashi Kapoor was a widower, didn't know a lot about his life. But I had read an article about Shammi Kapoor and his first wife Geeta Bali. He said that the 10 years he spent with her were the happiest of his life and he will never forget her or stop loving her. I think he did remarry eventually. But when I read that article, I felt his pain even after so many years. I think he truly loved her.

Actor or not, true love is true love. Even if you marry again, that doesnt mean your previous spouse was not your true love. Sometimes you marry to have a companion. But that once in a lifetime love only happens one time to most people. That was probably true for both Shammi and Shashi Kapoor and now to Neil.

We NK fans do not want Neil or Avni to move on either.
The whole reason the leap is exciting is to see these two back together, to see their tadpan. No 3 red angle please. That will spoil the beauty of these soul mates .

my opinion love doesn't need or give a reason it just happens and then stays

I am hoping the message of this post leap, is for Neil to convince Avni
What little time they spend together with each other is worth more than life long without each other.

Also looks like Avni has become timid and insecure, hope Neil gets to bring out the strong confident Sherni back again.

Ten years long but time flies by...if you love someone as Neil does Avni is totally relatable n his case he lost his love twice...Avni was his only khwaish n his true love...there are people out there who like Neil live their life with the memories not necessarily end up in another relationship...

Totally agree with you! What we are seeing happening to Neil does happen in real life, you just gave a great example of that. I love that the writers chose this route, it just makes you fall more in love with Neil and the love he and Avni share. Two people who never moved on and a man whose only wish right now is to have just one more time with Avni, just to see her, to feel her its beautiful!!
