In friday's episode - Avneil helped each other unknowingly.
Neil decided to stop VR's truck at the same location where Avi was planning to run.
If avi had run away, the police would have hunted her down as a fugitive. May even have had shoot at sight orders. Also VR would have come to know that she has escaped and would have sent his thugs to get to her before the police did.
So indirect Neil prevented her from being in that situation.
Avni to protect herself opened the water pipe and not only destroyed VR's drugs , his drugs got caught by police and she protected Neil's Neo cover.
Both of them remained connected and protected each other.
