That rain scene was so beautifully shot. It almost felt like a scene out of a movie. The downpour, the intensity in the eyes of the two heartbroken lovers, vidyut slowly rolling up the windows of his car, as the rain seemingly indicates the end of the spectacle in front of him, and the rest of the family looking on as a horrified and helpless audience in the rain. Everybody's performance in that scene was just outstanding, and the soundless struggling of the family to stop neil from making this mistake added to the impact of this emotional scene. Neil, although shattered from within during that scene had to keep up the farce of the stern and cold ACP. 😭
Avni had nothing left to say, as she comes to the conclusion that neil never loved her and only ever saw her as a criminal who could never be changed, whilst neil cherishes avni as his one and true love despite the situation compelling him to separate avni from himself. The song that was chosen was just the perfect match for this heartbreaking and dramatic scene of separation between two lovers (If anybody knows the name of this song, please do comment). But can we all just give a round of applause for shruti's performance... she never fails to impress me. She showed the most struggle to stop avni from being arrested. 👏
It made me cry so much, especially when neil, like a child seeking solace from his mother hugs a praying neela from behind and cries into her shoulders.
Neela and Neil think that through their plan they can prevent avni from becoming ananya again and also prove avni innocent in the process, but what they would never imagine is that this very plan of theirs would push her to become ananya again, and it may be that this time it may not be that easy to get avni back. Neil is ready to bear avni's hatred, but wants his plan of keeping avni safe away from vidyut in jail as a secret between just neela and himself, swearing neela to secrecy.
The whole family is peeved at neil and ignore him. Seems that he will only have neela to confide in from now on.
Besides the rain scene, the shots that switched between showing avni as a beautiful, white-and blue saree-clad convict behind bars, and Neil in the room he shared with avni, staring forlornly at their pictures was also so wonderfully shot. This whole episode had the best editing I have ever seen in any indian serial, and it almost feels like the editing team were given a kick up their backsides just to ensure they deliver their best editing performance till date.
As avni lays out a mat to sleep on the jail cell floor, neil is shown lying on the same exact mat on the floor of his bedroom without having changed his clothes. Nothing seems to matter at this point for him rather than thinking the punishment he has given himself and his beloved, so he chooses to sleep on the floor, most likely intentionally knowing that like a prisoner, avni will be sleeping on the floor too.
The 6 month leap opens with vidyut almost conjuring a storm with his entry, backed by his gun-wielding bodyguards as always. The man is sauve as ever. He's dressed in a indo-western button-up collared blazer attire, with even ballu formally dressed and sporting specs for some reason. The latter only made me giggle. Vidyut is smug as he looks on at the party he has arranged. His dialogue too was absolutely epic "Ek chehre par doosra chehra. Ab janta ka dushman banega janta ka sevak", addressing his intentions to become an MLA.
Funnily enough, his new career choice is just for avni. His intentions to get avni are strong, and I think it's hilarious how avni and her beauty has made both the nayak and kalnayak of this story tread on new paths we never thought we would see them on; the nayak turns from a high ranking police officer to a part-time underground vigilante, and the kalnayak goes from running an illegal business to turning into an aspiring politician. Or should I say, avni has made both these men into dual-faced, two career-juggling deewane.
My suspicions are that vidyut is now making the same mistake he did with juhi. He fell for juhi, who was only using him to run from his mother's rang mahal, which I think was all happening under the nose of ragini, which she found out when vidyut found out about juhi's betrayal, and now once again he has fell for a girl who feels nothing for him without letting his mother get a whiff of it.
He's even learnt to maintain eye contact with people whilst lying, which avni taunted that he was unable to do. Really vidyut? That much of an obsession for a girl who doesn't give a damn about you? Your mother would hang her head in shame if she knew you were stupid enough to fall in love with another girl.
Neela is the dancer at the same party, and is disguised with a mask. Sayantani is smoking as always as Neela, whilst delivering a great performance on aaj ki raat.
Whilst the mother is on fire dancing in the party, the daughter is working up a storm in jail, as she practises karate. Not really feeling the choppy short cut. It looks like somebody who had a few drinks too many gave avni that new cut. Avni has made vidyut her ultimate enemy as indicated by his name being scribbled across her cell walls.
Neela manages to get a tracker on vidyut's collar by getting close to him during the performance. And a person called Neo is causing a lot of loss to vidyut's illegal business, who is revealed to be our nayak, Neil, and Neil as Neo out-wits an extra cautious vidyut, as he is already hidden in the truck that vidyut is keeping tight surveillance over. Looks like he took inspo from avni for his new getup.
The precap is fab, with neil blowing up vidyut's truck, as neil's monologue says that those who escape the law, neo destroys them like this. Vidyut knows that neil is neo and is doing this to take revenge because vidyut targeted neil's heart, so in return neil is targeting vidyut's business.
Neil to himself says that the pain of the injustice done to avni still pricks his heart, whilst on the other hand, avni is shown in jail, demonstrating her karate chops on one of the inmates, and neil on the other hand promises to bring avni back in his life. You can see a glimpse of the new entrants like soni singh in the background when avni punches that inmate who looks like priya tandon I think.
