To be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if this is true. SP has a known history of not sticking to its 'Nayi Soch' concept and they love to show nonsensical, over-the-top tracks to attract the TRP audience. Moreover, SP is in a bad state, lagging badly behind Zee TV and Colors now and there are rumors going around that they're going to go for a revamp soon. Considering, how Star Bharat is faring superbly well now days, there is a high possibility of this. Revamp means throwing out all the shows that aren't giving them TRPs.

Looking at all the efforts and developments in SP shows, it gives the strong feeling that all the shows have been given a warning to increase their TRPs or else they are going to be kicked out during the revamp. Eg. sudden illogical drama in NK, more illogical drama and array of villains in IB, memory loss and leap in YHM, the male lead turning into an abusive lead in merit durga and the male lead toying with the female lead's feelings in Ikyawann, SP shows are pulling out all the classical tricks in the books to raise TRPs.

Sadly, unless TRPs are raised, SP is going to go down this path and destroy what good there are in its shows! 😡

Star Plus' maximum shows get less TRPS because they release the episodes before actual air time on Hotstar which Zee or Colors don't do.

If they are getting revenues from Hotstar, then they will have to compromise with TRPs and forget competing with Zee or Colors.
