Naj, you're making me want to rewatch the episode, for the nth time now. I loved every bit of your analysis. So beautifully thought and presented. I really liked the point on her flashbacks in particular. I didn't pay much thought to it the first time I watched the episode because I was too busy wiping my tears but then I saw a comment regarding the flashback on Twitter and now, you have mentioned it too. Our (read: Neil's) girl is in love, and how. It wasn't the first time she was having a flashback of their moments together, but like you said, it's the first time she is reminded of her first ever interaction with Neil. Was she in love with him since then? I don't think so. Was Neil attracted to her since day 1? Very much so. But like you said, again, that it could have been Avni's way of rethinking the time she spent with Neil. Avni herself said that she always thought of him to be a pain in the arse, foiling her plans. But now she has realized just how wrong she has been all this while. He has always been her knight in shining armour, whether she liked it/needed it or not. It's poetic justice that she would be the one to give him a new lease of life, literally. After all, they have both found a new reason to live and love thanks to each other. That little bittersweet smile on Avni's face as she was reminiscing all the past moments - I think my heart exploded at that point. She's a smitten kitten, just like Neil is. She reprimanded him for even thinking of leaving her, with her right as his wife. I love how assertive Avni has been in the past few episodes. That is all Neil needed, and hence, it makes perfect sense for him to want to support his wife and live with her. He has always wanted just a sign, anything really, to reassure him that she wants him just as much he wants her. He has gotten it and there's no stopping him now. Go Neil, take your wife, and live away from the snake of a mum that you have.
Shonali, I loved those two dialogues in particular too. Like we had established earlier, Bebe is a good human being - just slightly regressive. I feel like this was a growth arc for Bebe too. She had to question her beliefs and we know that she is an educated person so I am glad that the CVs made her have this realization. Superstitions and regressive thoughts on one side, Bebe chose to believe in what she saw. She saw how Avni left no stones unturned to bring Neil back from the clutches of death. She saw how Avni could care about nothing or no one but Neil at this point. Most importantly, she saw just how right Avni was for Neil. Avni didn't have to fast the whole day or do anything dramatic for Bebe to come to that conclusion. It was Avni's love for Neil (and Neil's love for Avni) that made Bebe reconsider everything. As strange as it sounds, I liked that she fell to her knees, begging for forgiveness because in that moment, there was a lady so broken by whatever happened to her grandson that it made her feel all the more guilty about what she did to his wife, especially after seeing what his wife was doing for him.
The second dialogue broke my heart. Avni-Neela Ma-Bebe-Papa ji --> bless them! Avni FINALLY experienced the sense of acceptance. After having been told her whole life that she is unlucky and illegitimate, she finally is accepted for who she is. Her character shapes her, and no one can deny what a gem of a person Avni is. It's a shame that it took so long for her to feel accepted, but like they say, better late than never.
