I think that time Neil's character was very confusing.Right now his character is being focused.There were many questions in the viewers mind .First was why he s getting married to Rhea .He keeps saying ismein" Rhea ki koi galti nai". Ananaya is a criminal n those lines were quite irritating.Both the guys were playing with girls emotions.Neil never loved Rhea the only person he ever loved was Juhi n he was hell bound to know the reality of Ananaya n he was doing things jus for that.That was not acceptable.Knowing the truth about avni he went to arrest her Bt then he changed his mind or had second thought was when he got to know the true intention of Dayawanti.Neil is an officer n actually in real life these officers only believ things which they see from dere eyes or have some proofs.Thats why no matter how close he was with Nanno n Ali Bt he never accepted the fact that Dayawanti mehta s family is wrong.We saw a different Neil post marriage.He got angry on Avni for marrying her .Though at that moment in his mind it was a fake marriage since later he came to know pandit is real.What I feel is Neil was angry on Avni that she lied to him .Why doesn't she trust him.When Neela came to his house n told him the reason why she forced avni .He had lil sympathy not for Avni Bt for Neela who is not real mother of avni Bt still she s begging to accept her daughter so that she doesn't turn as a criminal.Neil had change of heart Bt he didn't take the straight road rather took a high road n bought the house which meant so much to avni.He use to live alone in his bachelor's pad Bt then he shifted to house so that avni gets a family.To divert her from revenge he got his bebe so that avni starts living a normal life.It was after this he spoke to Neela about avni s past .That what a maturity is.He could have easily told avni that he knows her reality n he will help her in getting justice Bt then Avni would have straight away said no.I will say that after marriage track Neil has turned into a matured character.Earlier his actions n words didn't match.Bt only now it matches.So Neil was underrated before marriage Bt now he s one of the strongest character after Neela in Naamkaran

I have just binge watched Namkaran since the leap and I am totally bowled over by Neil. He is the sanest, non-AYM, non-MCP normal guy I have ever seen on an Indian TV show. (Started my journey of Indian TV shows from IPKKND). Since then I have watched around 9 shows. Nowhere did I find a guy like Neil. He is so hot, nice, kind, and at the same time he is smart and decisive. Does not take crap from anyone, and doesn't insult the female lead because of his many "issues" or his bitter past or whatever. (Cry me a river) LOL.

I am so glad they made a character like Neil for Indian TV. Finally a guy that actually commands and deserves respect. A guy who has a job and actually goes to work. A guy who keeps his word! I really hope they dont change him!

Neil Khanna...you have stolen my hear! ❤️

@shikshk:
Yes, Neil was frustrating when he kept saying "Rhea ki koi galti nahi". But I don't think he was confusing. He never wanted to admit or accept why he was pursuing Avni. The actual reason was he was fascinated by her from day dot, and then he was falling for her. But of course, he didn't want to accept that even to himself. This whole "Chor-Police" thing was his way of rationalizing his feelings for her, his need to see her, how he sought her out in every crowd. (During the wedding track). Every time you see his eyes searching for her.

I think after Juhi he resigned to never falling in love and agreed to an arranged marriage. Then his sense of "Fair play" stopped him from dumping Rhea (even when her lame ass deserved it every time) just coz her family were not nice people. (I think Neil was being naive. Those people were despicable and marrying Rhea would have put him in the path of them). But when you think about it, Avni is also related to them as much as Rhea is, and it's not her fault her family are criminals. So the same principle applies in the case of Rhea too. She's not a nice person, but she's not as bad as her Dad, Diksha or Amol. (Who are actual criminals).

Neil is crazy in love with Avni, there is no doubt in that. I don't think he wants to admit it, coz maybe he feels falling in love again will betray Juhi. But in his vision, Juhi herself tells him to move on with Avni. It's like she was saying "She's the one, take her hand". (One of the most beautiful scenes of the show).

Since the marriage, Neil was hell bent on making Avni stand by her decision, which was her marriage to him. He's truly a Man worthy of respect. He believes in honoring his commitments and that is why right after the marriage he was so hard on Avni. But the only reason he stayed married to her, brought that house and doing all he is doing now is coz he is hopelessly in love, but doesn't want to say it or accept it. But he's still the best guy I saw on Indian TV to date.

Hi, sorry I dont know your name. Thanks for liking me! Ha ha. Yes whenever I am "Into" a show, pairing or character, I really try to understand them and what motivates them. In this case, I am mad on Neil. He is truly a cut piece. I have been analyzing him through my "binge watch" and I truly find him fascinating and his POV has been totally justified. The writers of this show have done a great job with all the characters. Especially Neil and Avni.

But in this case, Neil takes the trophy for me, coz he has been portrayed not as a caricature of goodness, but as a real person with failings but a really good guy. He is dashing, charming and playful with the right amount of serious and intense to make the character memorable and relatable.

Zain is very handsome, but initially, I was not sure of his acting. But as episodes rolled I realized he was truly justifying the character of Neil in his performance. He plays him with just the right amount of swagger and charm, not to mention that hint of vulnerability and hesitation he shows time and again in his scenes with Avni, he has really grown into the character of Neil. I can say the same for the guy who plays Ali. He is really good. Those small shifts of emotion in his eyes and facial expression are noteworthy. Both boys are good, but I am totally partial to Neil. A hero who is truly a Hero for once! Not a jerk who needs to be "saved!". Fed up of all that!
