Neil: Trying to piece some confusing facts together!

Here are a number of things I have noticed that I find confusing about neil:

1. Him being adamant to marry riya, completely ignoring her every wrongdoing in the name of 'innocence', that too, despite him still supposedly trying to get over the death of his girlfriend.

2. Him saying to ali that he has heard about the cases against dayavanti, but none of them were proven, so he doesn't like to judge.

3. His mysterious dead girlfriend, juhi, who he never really talks about.

4. Him saying that he looked at all the case files and doesn't understand how she escaped each time, which ultimately just seems to contradict what he said to ali about nothing being proven against them and he doesn't like to judge, because that dialogue that he said to nanno implies he is suspicious of the mehta's and skeptic whether she really was innocent, which is in contrast to the dialogue he had said to ali, which implied that he has faith in the judical system, and that if her crimes weren't proven, then it's probably not true.

5. Him refuting the words of everyone from his own mother, to his best friend and nanno just to marry riya, a girl he neither loves, or really knows, yet seems completely determined to marry her.

6. Seems a little too bothered when some problem comes in his wedding functions with riya. Why does he care if there is a problem that stops his wedding with riya?

A thought had come to my mind previously, that what if one of the cases was that of his girlfriend, juhi, or he suspects or knows that dayavanti was behind her death, but perhaps there may have been zero evidence against daya for it to materialise into an offical case, and maybe neil wants to get close to the mehta's to find out for himself?

But then again, there are two things that have always stopped me from disregarding this theory. One is the fact that his parents had bought the rishta of riya for him and convinced him for it after him at first refusing to the proposal and his mother at first telling him to forget his past and move on with riya. The second one is that his father has seemingly known dayavanti for years, as mr khanna's first scene was with daya where he said he owed everything he has to her, meaning she had at one point actually helped him to become rich. It's because of the two points that i am unable to believe that neil has some agenda or mysterious intentions behind marrying riya, and I feel it is simply just because his parents and he himself had promised to marry riya.

Very good analysis.
I'm totally confused about Neil's intentions.
He is an enigma and I'm sure his true reasons and persona will gradually be revealed.
Waiting for that to happen.

Yep. Another point did come in to my mind, and that was neil's anger, frustration and disappointment at avni taking back the case from amol. Somehow now i am feeling it isn't because she didn't trust him when he said he would support her regardless of whether he is to marry in to that family, but rather, after hearing what he said to nanno about wondering how daya would escape from punishment by law each time, that maybe he was highly disappointed that once again daya and the mehta's got off scott free without being punished. This just occurred to me after remembering that dialogue from yesterday that we are all confused about. Maybe he himself is in wait for the day the mehta's are finally caught, and evidence is found against them, but being an honest cop, he can't go against them without substantial evidence, so maybe avni's this act just felt like another incident of daya getting off the hook with another crime.

Good sum up. But somehow I didn't feel Neil's concern for Ali as being genuine. He was planning on getting closer to Ananya's truth through Ali before. Everything he said to Nanno about dayawanti escaping from every case seems to be to pacify Nanno. As it's completely in contrast to what he said earlier.

Omg girl, you read my mind. Even i felt he was just saying that at first just to pacify nanno instead of directly objecting to what she said. Remember when ali told him about mehta's and he outright denied to believe him and clearly and bluntly said to him when there's no proof against her, how can i judge her. But in contrast to that, when nanno told him about daya he just sat there looking sympathetic and like he was simply trying to console her. If ali had said the same things to neil that nanno had, he would have clearly said to ali's face that he doesn't believe it like he did the first time, but clearly he can't do that with nanno taking her age and the fact that she lost her family into consideration.

His two-faced behaviour with his so-called best friend ali, nanno and even avni is starting to piss me off. If he is so confident that the law he is loyal to has justly proved daya innocent and that if no evidence has been found against her so he thinks she is innocent in his eyes, just be bloody honest about it instead of playing around with words.

I could tell he didn't actually give a shit about protecting ali, as he himself is suspecting ali to be hiding something from him, and he has even been thinking about using ali to find out more about ananya. Ugggh! Why is he doing this?

I swear these cv's better play their cards right and reveal later that neil is actually against the mehta's secretly and marrying riya is just an excuse, otherwise if it turns out he really does believe the mehta's to be innocent and misunderstood souls (at least daya and riya) and he is exactly what he seems, then i'm honestly going to be pissed off with his character. There must be a reason why they are not giving a single bit of detail about his dead girlfriend, and why he is willingly ready to marry riya even when his mother was against it. Daya better have some connection to juhi's death for me to love neil even more.
