Rithik is attracted to Shivanya and he knows its. He also knows that he is committed to Tanvi, a woman who loves him immensely. Betraying her by pursuing his own feelings will be highly wrong as he won't be betraying just any random woman. This will be his childhood friend that he will be hurting. He has repeatedly told that he does not believe in love and now that he is being bombarded with such strong emotions, he does not know how to process them. He has been told by numerous people that it is possible to fall in love at first sight. This will undoubtedly foster a desire at a subconscious level.

Tanvi knows that Rithik doesn't love her and is attracted to Shivanya. Rather than taking Rithik's feelings into real consideration, she is living on the selfish hopes that what he is feeling for Shivanya could be transferred over to her. That she may finally get the love that she has been yearning for, for so many years. She is willing to squash his dreams and chance of gaining true love so that she could keep hers. She cannot bear to see her love of 10+ years lose to a girl that he hasn't even known for ten days. It is simply unfathomable to her.

With everything that is going around them, plus the drastic change in feelings from Rithik's side, the logical approach will be to postpone the marriage and proceed from there. If Rithik's feelings are truly strong and valid for Shivanya, then Tanvi should give Rithik a chance. But if it's not then by all means go ahead and marry him.

I feel like they have put themselves in a very murky situation by allowing Rithik to pursue his feelings while still being committed in a serious relationship. The two put together simply does not equate to a positive feeling.

Beautifully put. Yes, Tanvi is naive to think that he'd never pursue Shivanya seriously, and probably thinks its a passing phase. But can she be faulted for it? I wonder. Though, yes, she should definitely have a mature talk with Hrithik.

As for can Tanvi be faulted for it.. to some extent I would like to say yes? Apart from Shivanya, we really don't know much about Rithik's degree of attraction or interaction with other women. We have seen him interact with the women in his family and with Tanvi who he considers to be his best friend, not even his fiancee. I feel like the labeling of marriage is merely a compromise or another relationship that he will be fulfilling for the heck of it. He has a woman that loves him immensely, his parents and entire family is ecstatic about the relationship, and he himself enjoys a great rapport with her. Shivanya, on the other hand, is the only real external woman that we have seen him interact with that he has not known for many years.

Hence it's hard to determine whether or not Tanvi should be faulted for not taking Rithik so seriously. Perhaps she has seen him be infatuated with women before but then have it slide away in a matter of few days. However, that does not mean that she should let her guard down or let Rithik be so insensitive of her own feelings. What he is doing, whether knowingly or unknowingly, is wrong and it should be made clear to him. Tanvi has real feelings for him and they deserve to be respected. If he wishes to give this marriage another thought, then so be it. But he shouldn't be going around spending majority of his time with a palace worker while his own fiancee is waiting for when she will get to see his face.
