The consummation scene was a classic reversal of roles - Bani being ecstatic & passionate & Veeranshu being calm & restrained - because of the guilt of tossing Bani that badly ! I agree with everyone that Veeranshu wanted Bani to take the lead & he followed her cues accordingly. The scene was subtle & well executed, had just the right degree of emotions & was presented beautifully. VAni relationship definitely has Shivji's sanction & approval, but don't know if the makers would focus on showing the cosmic connection between them.
Regarding the hypnotic effect, one thing is quite strange that Veer remembers everything clearly that happens prior to the hypnosis & even during the hypnosis. He can't detect what's going wrong when he should be the first one to understand that he's being controlled by an external force. During that Naagfani effect, he understood that he's losing control on himself, but in this case he is clueless. Perhaps this is just a trope to highlight Bani as the ultimate saviour !
Agreed that this was a case of role reversal. In the early parts of the date, Veer was his usual teasing self - smirking while opening the champagne, knowing she's trying to tell him she doesn't drink, and the whole thing with the rose. He was leading at that point, and to me it felt like after that he let Bani take the lead, esp when it started raining and from then. Veer probably expected the date to end at some nice dancing, but the rain kicked it up a notch.
I really enjoyed the scene in the gazebo - it had the right amount of heat, sweetness, and the pull was there from both sides. I loved seeing Bani as ecstatic and into this as Veer...we've seen so little from her side, but her enthusiastically teasing or coming closer to Veer felt natural and beautiful.
I feel like the bells were intended as a sign of Shivji's approval of this union, and as I said earlier, I don't think he would have allowed the marriage to happen in the first place if this was not intentional. But IDK if they'd show that.
I think this possession works differently to the naagfani, which was a foreign substance inside his body. This is just something that makes him lose control and blurt out the anger that's already within him. I guess we're calling it possession but it's not really that...it's like if someone just cranked up the "Anger" meter inside your body so every other emotion is muted in that moment. IDK exactly how it works though, but it feels like Chandrakala is that voice in his head saying "get angry, get mad" and according to the situation, he does.
