I think Dev cancelled the marriage because he believes Brinda loves Rajat. For him marriage is about love, Brinda doesn't love him and he isn't in a hurry to marry, he only agreed to the marriage for Brinda's sake.

Firstly... Vj was so dam handsome as the Groom

His expressions ugh do we need to say about that......the Expression King was apt and he knows that Brinda is doing something which is wrong for her but right for others as the way he said he remembers each and every words she had spoken so he is listening very carefully. He wants to match her eyes with her words which is not hence he knows there is something big which has gone behind this.

Loved him ....he is also doing like her, doing something for her happiness though he is not party to it. so trading his love (which ofcourse is one sided).

But like any normal human he still brings in his frustration taunting her to get married with her fiance who loves luxury....

He will never hate her as he always reasons out,,,he could not get angry over Nayan though she has ran away embarrassing him he was only upset. With Brinda He will be THAT PERSON who will stand for her against all odds...
