Crown is hereditary, but there are times when the current reigning monarch abdicate in favor of somebody else or was forced to abdicate. In that case then the crown will go to the next in line to the throne. There are actually a lot of cases of modern monarch who abdicate their throne in favor for their children to reign earlier. There are also some monarchs who are forced to abdicate the throne in favor of someone else. In that case then the crown goes to whomever forced the abdication and who usurped the throne.

Arre... But there is no reason for purple auntie to come and help Bella. If there is a division between the Sheshnaag clan and struggle of powers between the two sisters. It will be easier for purple and Vikrant to launch a coup and seize the throne.

But the power is going into the enemy's hands - Gidds. They might put the intra-species fight aside for inter-species one... Then Purple is an useful asset as she is quite powerful.
