You are right, twice before Bela looked like she was almost going to caress sleeping Mahir's hair but she didn't. Probably this time around she would have gone ahead and done so without any hesitation if not for the interruption.

Bela for once looked repulsed to see a girl's hand draped over Mahir. I loved how she didn't let Rinky go far with that insinuation. (Weirdly that scene reminded me of a certain humbistar scene from Qubool Hai.)

I couldn't help but wonder that did they just randomly throw in that line when BeHir were walking down the stairs for aarti because they were going to show one such scene later on - Kyunki main aapko kisi aur ke saath nahin dekh sakti.

I feel Bela's possessiveness for Mahir has more to do with belongingness than jealousy, her possessiveness shows but often through her protectiveness for him. Mahir has experienced the fear of losing Bela to another person whereas Bela most often experienced the fear of losing Mahir forever through death. She has been posed as a protector for Mahir right from the start when they took wedding vows. In the confrontation with Vikrant she reinstates - Mere rehte Mahir ko maut choo bhi nahin sakti

Just how adorable was Mahir when he suddenly wakes up thinking about a certain dream in which Bela was fighting with a bird to protect him. Simply love the exchange of dailogues between Bela and Mahir here

Mahir: "Ab Tumne jaan bachaayi hai toh thank you karna toh banta hai"

Bela: Thank you karte nahin kehte hain

Mahir: Dekho bhai sabka apna apna style hai...jo jis cheez mein Mahir hota hai, woh woh kar leta hai .

*Bela notices feather of vulture*

Mahir: Kya hua Bela?

It was uber cute the way he asks "Kya hua Bela" And though it was a very small scene but it made sense for Bela to remove the feather from Mahir's cushion lest it gave him an idea that what he thought as a dream was not dream after all.

Great post Fibby as usual! Your insightful and meaningful analysis of scenes makes the viewing all the more enjoyable ❤️

She is now very much afraid of losing Mahir. Either from the constant plot against Mahir's life or from her truth of being a Naagin and coming to the Sehgal's house to avenge her former's love. It seems now there is no way that Bella will tell the truth to Mahir that she is a Naagin as she is afraid Mahir will not accept her and will somehow ask her to leave his life.
