PROLOGUE

CHAPTER 1

[Many Years Later, Amsterdam, 2018]

An NRI couple were roaming happily in a rose garden along with many other couples just like them. The NRI couple were one of the most influential business families in Amsterdam THE SOODS and were blessed with every luxury, fame and prosperity in their life and own a big mansion in one of the most richest colonies of the city where they live with their big joint family where Yash was the eldest among the three brothers. But as it is said that even the perfect of the perfect family pictures had their own flaws. The couples, Mr. Yash and Mrs. Nandita Sood, were married for long enough but did not have a child which made their lives, their happiness empty. Every time Nandita got pregnant, she had suffered miscarriage. After many years of trying and opting different medical treatments in all over the world, they were confirmed by all the doctors that it was impossible for Nandita to conceive due to her weak womb which resulted due to multiple miscarriages. Suddenly a miracle happened and finally destiny smiled on them and Nandita got pregnant again and this time with a baby girl and this time her pregnancy sustained. While they were roaming in the garden, Nandita suddenly started feeling sick and Yash took her to a nearby bench to sit and take some rest. Nandita was tensed as she never had that feeling of sickness before and started to sweat. Seeing her in that condition, Yash asked, "What happened? Are you alright? Nandita started taking deep breaths and replied, "I don't know, its so wiered, I never had these feelings before. Yash tried to calm her down and replied, "Don't worry!! Its just 7 months and doctors already mentioned about such symptoms previously. Its very natural!! Nandita almost panicked and said, "Nothing was never normal in my pregnancy Yash and you know it. After so many miscarriages when I got pregnant again this time, I suffered accidents many times but my baby survived miraculously each time and even the doctors had no explanation for that. Yash said, "Oh Nandita!! Why you always chant the same thing everytime? It was God's grace that you got pregnant again and our child survived this time. Just think how this baby's gonna fill our lives with happiness. Just be happy for that!! Nandita removed Yash's hand from her shoulder and in an annoyed tone replied, "I know you'll never believe me Yash no matter how many times I say you. She looked on the other side and said, "Somethings' there, someones' there whom I just can't see but I can feel its presence and that's what is protecting our child every time... everywhere. Yash thought that these feelings might be some kind of mood swings of hers and so he decided to take her to her bedroom. Once Nandita was taken back to her room, Yash asked her to take some food and have rest but instead Nandita asked to meet her mother in law, Yash's mother, Mrs. Aparna Sood. After sometime, Aparna came to Nandita's bedroom along with a servant who brought some food for her. After the servant left, Aparna asked, "You wanted to meet me dear? Nandita grabbed Aparna's hand as tightly as possible and Aparna could easily feel the fear in her grip and in order to ease her she too held back Nandita's hand and sat in front of her on the bed and asked, "What happened? Nandita almost freaked out and said, "Mom I'm so scared! I just want the baby to be safe. I just know, I just can't think anymore. I feel someones' presence around me, but I can't see her. I only think that its protecting my baby but what if its trying to hurt it even more badly. I have been trying to explain this to Yash but he would never believe me. Aparna replied, "Nandita its just all in your mind my dear. You're just scared thinking you might lose this baby too but that's not true. You've been properly taken care of and you will give birth to a healthy and beautiful child. Just believe in God and don't worry much, you'll be just fine. Now have the food and just take rest. You need some sleep, this tension is not good for you. Nandita tried to relax after hearing to her mother in law and so she had the food and decided to have some sleep.

Aparna returned to her room where she found that her son, Yash's younger brother Suraj was waiting for her. She was taken back on seeing them and asked, "What are you doing here? Suraj replied, "I have something very important to say to you. Aparna looked at Suraj with a tint of tease in her eyes which didn't go unnoticed by him and he said, "I know mom what you want to say... But... Aparna sat in front of the mirror and started putting off her jewelleries and replied, "The only thing which I ever wanted to hear from you my son is the one thing neither you nor your wife is interested to make me hear. Every child's duty is to fulfil their parent's wish and you are that one worthless son of mine who can not even fulfill my one single wish... just to give me and this family an heir. Suraj had an evil smile on his lips and he said, "Your wish has come true mom! Nyonika is pregnant and it's a baby boy. You're soon going to have your heir mom! There was a pin drop silence in the whole room except for the only sound coming from the tinkling of her diamond jewellery as she put off and kept it on the jewellery box. The exact emotion on her face could not be deduced but one thing was for sure that she was happy and content but that was also true that came as a surprise to her as Nyonika Sood, Suraj's wife didn't want to have a child and for that reason she was on pills. Aparna immediately turned towards Suraj and he could easily see the shine of her devilish eyes as she asked, "How did that happen? Suraj smiled and replied, "I changed her pills. But she is very upset and wants to abort her child. I tried to explain her but she didn't try to understand and we... just don't have the family history of domestic abuse I don't want to be the first name bearer for it. But... you're very good at those pathetic ways of persuation and that too without putting finger on it so... if you're kind enough... Aparna had an evil smile and she put her hand on Suraj's head and said, "Your wife will give birth to my heir... My grandson no matter how, but she will coz one thing that she doesn't know is that if Aparna Sood wants something, then she gets hold of it no matter how. I have waited for so long for this to happen and your wife can't just ruin everything this time, I won't let her do that. Aparna then asked Suraj that she would talk to Nyonika alone and that he would not come to his bedroom until and unless she's done talking to her.

Aparna went to Suraj's bedroom, where she found that Nyonika was sitting on the bed extremely disturbed with a paper on her hand. When her eyes fall on Aparna, she understood that Suraj has informed her about Nyonika's pregnancy. Nyonika was so angry at her husband that she lashed out on seeing Aparna and said, "I know you might be very happy today after all you wanted this to happen. I was nothing but a baby making machine for you but listen one thing very carefully I'm not bringing this child into this world. Never!! Your son cheated me by changing the pills. Nyonika got up and was about to leave when Aparna grabbed her hand from the back tightly and pulled her towards herself. Nyonika fought to free her hand from Aparna's grip but she could not and Aparna forcibly made Nyonika sit on the bed beside her and hugged her tightly to calm her down and said, "Sshhh my child!!! Calm down my dear! Calm down! This anger and anxiety is not good for your child. It will hamper your health. Nyonika pushed her away and said, "Don't touch me!! You can appease Nandita Bhabhi like that but you can't use the same trick on me. I see what you really are... a selfish woman. Aparna shook her shoulder with a smile and replied, "It took so long for you to understand that? I thought you were smart! But... better late than never. I waited to see my Suraj's child for a long time and now you want to destroy him? For what? Don't you know that a woman is complete only when she becomes a mother? I know you are hating me and Suraj now, but one day you will understand the happiness of becoming a mother. Don't you want to see your son as the legal heir of this family and don't you want to rule in this house? Nyonika was confused listening to what Aparna was telling her as she knew that as per their father in law, i.e., Aparna's late husband's will, it was Yash's child who will be the sole heir of all the empire and now that Nandita was pregnant, her child will be the heir. She looked into Aparna's eyes and the tinkling shine in her eyes as she mentioned about Nyonika's child as the future heir of the property, made everything crystal clear in front of her eyes. Aparna was actually the step mother of Yash but Yash loved her more than his own mother whom he never saw as she died during child birth. Aparna gave Yash all the motherly love and kept him totally under her control which resulted in the way that Yash never could disobey Aparna. Aparna too loved Yash very much and there was no deficiency in her love towards Yash but she wanted the entire empire for her own sons. She uttered, "You devoured your son's happiness, you filthy bitch... Nyonika could not complete her sentence as Aparna pulled her hair back and grinned in a demonic voice, "Don't you have any manners about how to talk with your mother in law? Yes, you are right!! I killed all of Yash's kids before their birth. Yes I did it not because I don't love him. I love Yash very much, I raised him up and I know he loves me more than my own sons, but I love my Suraj and Ranveer a bit more than him because I gave birth to them. I always wanted Yash to be the king only because if he becomes the king I'll always be the Queen mother, but I don't love his kids and I'll never love his kids coz they're the obstacle in my sons' ways of happiness. I caused all the miscarriages that happened to Nandita so that my sons' kids could be the owner of the empire after Yash. Don't you get that? You will be the Queen! Aparna loosened her grip from Nyonika's hair when she noticed that she had tears in her eyes. Aparna immediately composed herself and started pampering Nyonika and said, "I... I... I'm... I'm sorry!! I should not have hurt you like that. I'm really very sorry. Nyonika replied, "You're one hell of a witch!! I'm never gonna give birth to this child not because I don't want him but he doesn't deserve to be in a family of monsters like yours. On hearing this, Aparna burst out into laughter and kept on laughing and laughing and seeing that Nyonika got more scared. After a few seconds, Aparna finally stopped laughing and replied, "Every mother's a witch when it comes to her child and I'm the worst of all!! Her expressions changed immediately and she continued, "What do you think that I didn't have any other means to bring Suraj's child into this world? C'mon its 21^st century. I could have brought any other woman who could have bore my son's child but I didn't do it because we respect our daughter in laws. If I can kill my son's kids, just imagine what could I do to you? You don't want the child... Fine!! Just give me my heir and you're free to do anything with your life or... Aparna gave Nyonika an evil meaningful look and replied, "If you want, even I could help you with that. Nyonika was horrified as she immediately understood what Aparna meant and with a last straw of smile towards her, Aparna left from there. After coming outside of the room, she found Suraj standing and she said, "Don't worry, she'll come around. Saying Aparna was about to leave when Suraj asked, "But mom what about bhaiya's baby? Aparna replied, "We'll get rid of her soon! Suraj said, "Isn't it what you've always said? Earlier all our plans were successful but this time all our plans failed. I don't know how but everytime this child is protected miraculously as if there is a protective shield around her. Aparna too was worried about the same thing and said, "I too just don't get it, whats happening this time? All our attempts were unsuccessful. But don't worry!! My grandson will be the heir of this family and no one can stop that. All this time, my aim was only to kill the child but now to do that if the mother gets killed, so be it! I won't allow Nandita's child to see the light. Aparna dialled some number on her phone and left from there.

Aparna took Nandita for a pre delivery check up in the hospital and while she was going through a sonography, Aparna decided to have a talk with her doctor. She went straight to his cabin and seeing her, the doctor greeted her and said, "Hullo Mrs. Sood!! Your daughter in law's health is absolutely fine and I hope the sonography will be just perfect. "Will aborting the child at this stage kill my daughter in law too? Aparna asked almost without any hesitation in her voice by looking directly at the doctor's eyes. The doctor was taken back on hearing the question and replied, "Sorry! I didn't follow you. Aparna repeated the same question, "Will aborting the child at this stage kill my daughter in law too? The doctor was confused thinking why Aparna asked such question but still he replied, "Yes definitely as she suffered multiple miscarriages, another blow will be fatal to her. Then do it! , Aparna spoke up without a little bit of shake in her voice and the doctor asked, "Are you insane? You're asking me to kill someone? Aparna picked up a paperweight and started playing with it and said, "Isn't it what you doctors say that if you want to cure a disease you have to pull it out from the roots? This child is a disease and I too want to pull her out off her roots. No mother which means there'll be no child ever!! The doctor said, "You're a psychopath. I'm calling the cops! Aparna was as reluctant as before and replied, "Your son is convicted in a murder case and no lawyer is ready to take up your case as its doomed. But I can ensure your son's freedom. The doctor just held the receiver of the phone but didn't get the courage to dial any number. Seeing that Aparna leaned backwards on the chair and said, "Now you must be thinking how I came to know about it. Well!! We always take care of the people who take care of us. So... its your decision! The doctor looked at Aparna and then slowly put down the receiver and asked, "What if I get caught? Aparna laughed and replied, "Do you think I am a fool that I'll let you get caught? Of course not! Just get the work done and that too in such a way so that it doesn't look like a murder. The doctor got up from his seat and went to the washroom and after sometime, when he arrived, he replied, "Ok! I'll do as you say but I want to fulfil your side of promise. Aparna picked up her phone and dialled a number and then put that on loudspeaker.

A : "Hullo D. A. Hexton, Aparna Sood speaking!!

H : "Hullo Mrs. Sood!!

A : "I talked to you about that case. I want full immunity for that kid.

H : "It'll be done Mrs. Sood!!

A : "Thank you!!

Aparna disconnected the call and said to the doctor, "See!! I talked with the top lawyer of this town and he ensured that right in front of you. Now it's your turn to keep the deal! The doctor was about to leave but as soon as he put his hand on the door knob to open the door, he stopped and hesitated. He turned towards Aparna and said, "If there is a place called hell, may your soul rot in there! Aparna smiled and replied, "Don't worry doc! We all do terrible things for our children. That's what parents do! Even it means murdering someone and today no one goes to hell for that. The doctor left from there and Aparna had an evil smile on her face thinking that finally she would get rid of the child. After the sonography and all other tests, the doctor checked the reports and told that Nandita blood pressure was very high and also ensured that everything will be alright after he gives her an injection. The doctor went inside the washroom again as he didn't want to do what he was going to do to Nandita. While he was washing his hands, suddenly the lights went off which made him confused. He tapped all the buttons of the switch board but the lights didn't turn on. The doctor was scared and tried to pull and open the door, but it didn't open. Suddenly a shadow appeared and in a demonic voice said, "Do the child no harm or else... The doctor started shivering and in a trembling voice asked, "Who... who... are you? Why don't you show your face? The shadow and repeated the exact words that he had spoke previously and the doctor replied, "I can't I'm sorry! My hands are tied, I have to save my son and for that the baby needs to die. The shadow, again, in his demonic voice said, "If you harm the child, be prepared to bear the consequences as it will be severe! The doctor started shouting and someone came on hearing his voice and rescued him by opening the door and when asked, he lied since no one would believe him. After coming back, he asked Nandita to lie down as it would make her fall asleep for some time which would help to normalize her blood pressure. As he was preparing the injection, the shadowy figure who was outside the window of the cabin, said, "You were warned! But that voice was not heard by anyone and as the doctor was about to give Nandita the injection, the shadowy figure raised his right hand and made a tight fist and as he made that fist the doctor started choking. He was not able to breathe and due to which the injection fall from his hand. Nandita started screaming out of fear as the doctor collapsed right in front of her. On hearing her scream, the nurses and the other staffs came to the room and on examining the doctor's body, the examinee nurse screamed as she confirmed his death. As the doctor died right in front of her eyes, that experience was so horrible which resulted in Nandita's nervous breakdown and untimed labour pain.

On the other side, on the outskirts of the city, there stood a chateau, as beautiful and horrifying just like the crown of the lord of hell, where there lived a lonely man waiting for his long lost love for centuries. The man was standing in front of the giant portrait of his beloved and was admiring the beauty of it. His finger was travelling within the picture as if he was trying to touch her in real. He was so busy in his own world as his solace was disturbed by the same shadowy figure who killed the doctor. The shadowy figure then took its real form and he turned out to be a blue eyed demon.

The demon : "The work is done master!! I have punished the doctor!

The man : "Is the child alright?

The demon : "The child was alright.

The man's finger stopped and he turned towards the shadowy figure and his eyes started shining red which clearly showed his anger. He slowly walked towards the shadowy figure and stood right in front of him face to face. It was the same man whose lover died many years ago and whose throat was slit by those group of mysterious people.

The man : "What do you mean by was'?

The demon : "The lady went into a premature labour after watching the doctor die right in front of her eyes. The life of the child is at risk.

The man : (yelled) "Nooo!! It can't be, it won't be happening!! She can't die again! I won't let her die again!

He turned towards the portrait and almost ran towards it and said, "No! You can't leave me again! I waited for you living and enduring this death and now you're again going to make me lonely forever? No, I won't let that happen again. I will save you!! The man was about to leave when the demon stopped him and said, "Stop master! The Council has strictly prohibited you from coming in direct contact with the child or her family or to help her directly till her birth, if you do so, you will lose your powers for next 10 years! The man asked, "Then can you help me save her Ahaan? The demon named Ahaan, replied, "No master!! I'm just your servant and I can only cause death. I don't have the power to give life. I can do that just by gifting death to someone else. Till now my duty was to protect the mother so that My Lady could be saved, that too by taking the life those who came to hurt her. But you, my master, are capable of giving life and right now at this moment, you can't loose yourself like that. Ahaan almost grabbed the man's hand and the man glared back at Ahaan and seeing that Ahaan sat down on his knees leaving his hand and said, "Master you always treated me like a friend, a confidante rather than your servant and for the sake of all those things and for the sake of the love that you have for My Lady, please have patience and wait for her to come into this world. You have always told me that how much you loved her and how just in order to be with her you have chosen this path. Immortality is itself the biggest sacrifice one can make for their loved ones and you did that master. Now don't waste it at this moment because after she is born, only you are the one who can save her from that demonic family of hers and for that you need your powers. Please master!! At least do that for her. The man was tensed and asked, "What if she dies? Ahaan replied, "You could revive her master and I know she'll not die. After all, as you said, My Lady never breaks her promise and so she will come to you. She has to! The man listened and accepted his proposal and decided to wait until she's born. He asked Ahaan to rise up and held his arms and said, "You are the only one in this world who is my own after she left me. Thank you very much to be there for me. You took care of me when I was a broken lonely man. Ahaan bowed his head and replied, "You gave me life master! I am alive because of you. You saved me! I will never leave you alone master and will always be there for you till the end of time. The man patted Ahaan's head with a smile.

In the hospital, Nandita's condition was very critical and the whole Sood family was waiting outside the O.T. and praying for Nandita's delivery. Suraj took his mother on a side and asked, "Mom you told that you'll handle it. What happened? Aparna replied, "I did exactly as we planned, but I just don't understand how the hell this doctor died. Suraj said, "Just see!! This time again the child is saved. Now what will happen to my son? Aparna grabbed Suraj's hand and said, "My grandson will be the heir! At least we should be happy that the doctor died before he could have spilled the beans. After 2 hours, when the doctor came out of the O. T., he informed that Nandita had successfully delivered the baby but since it was a prematured delivery, the baby was still in danger and was placed in the incubator and Nandita fall into coma. Yash was so devastated at this news that he broke into tears. Aparna came and consoled him and said, "Yash, control yourself! Yash was in so much pain that she hugged Aparna and said, "How can I control myself mom? Me and Nandita waited for a child for so long and now when she finally came into the world, she's in danger and Nandita too... I don't know what to do mom. She always used to tell me that something's there she just couldn't see it and she was so scared. I couldn't save them mom! Aparna held him and said, "No baby!! You've done everything you could do. Whatever happened was an accident and it was not your fault. Aparna broke the hug and said, "You have to be strong Yash! You have to be strong for Nandita and the baby. I want to see the Yash who always stood firm when we had to face extreme bad days. I want to see my that son and I know both will be alright. Yash nodded her head. Aparna, on the pretext of going to the temple and pray for Nandita and the child's recovery left from there and Suraj followed her. While she was going to get inside her car, she said to Suraj, "Call that killer and ask him to kill the baby in the incubator. I don't want the child to step inside my house. Suraj nodded his head and Aparna left from there.

At around midnight, a man entered inside the hospital, in the disguise of a doctor and managed to sneak inside the incubation chamber where Nandita's baby girl was kept. He took out a syringe from his pocket and a vial and pulled the medicine inside the injection. He slowly shifted the glass door to insert his hand with the injection to push it inside the baby. Just then his hand stopped moving and it slowly twisted automatically and the injection fall from his hand. He screamed a bit in pain and in the darkness outside, he saw one pair of eyes which were burning just like fire. The pair of eyes slowly started moving and the killer saw that the figure of a man emerged out of the darkness with complete black outfit and just in front of him he walked past the glass wall of the incubation room and stood in front of him. The killer was extremely scared of the man when he looked into his eyes. The man grabbed the killer's throat tight and said, "You were going to kill the child? I had been waiting for her for centuries and you were going to kill her... How dare you try to touch her? You will receive your punishment. You will die!! The killer was not able to speak as the man grabbed his throat too hard. The man then uttered, "AHAAN! Ahaan appeared with a mist of cloud and then the man looked at him with a demonic smile and said, "You have protected her for so long!! You deserve a reward!! The man pushed the killer in front of Ahaan and seeing him, Ahaan too gave his demonic smile. The man said, "You know what you have to do! Just make sure that they know what happened to him. Ahaan licked his lips seeing the killer from head to toe as he grabbed his throat and replied, "With pleasure master! Ahaan disappeared with the killer and after he left, Maahir looked at the baby. He looked at the baby in such a way as if his soul finally got peace. He kneeled down in front of the incubator and then looked at the baby and said, "I came for you my love!! I kept my promise to live without you and you too kept your promise to return. I had been waiting for you for so long. I know you won't remember me or our love but I will wait... I will wait till you remember. I won't let anything happen to you ever. I will protect you my love! He raised his hands and his hands travelled past the incubator glass and he put his hand on the baby's body and closed his eyes. Slowly the baby's vitals started improving and the baby responded. The man opened his eyes and he picked up the baby and the baby rested herself peacefully in his arms. He took her to ICU where Nandita was kept and a nurse was continuously monitoring her. The man walked past the ICU and made the nurse fall asleep and then kept the baby beside Nandita. He then placed his hand on Nandita's forehead and again closed his eyes and said, "You brought my love back into this world after enduring so much pain! I thank you with all my heart! Nandita's vitals started improving and then she slowly started responding and seeing that he said to the baby, "I will always be near you my love! You can always feel me but you can not see me until its time. Good bye for now! Saying he woke the nurse up and disappeared from there. The nurse woke up but could not understand or remember what happened to her but as soon as her eyes fall on Nandita and the baby she cried out for the doctors and other staffs. When the doctor arrived, he checked Nandita who had by that time already opened her eyes and the doctor asked the nurse to inform her family members. Within half an hour, the family arrived and Yash and Aparna directly entered inside the ICU and found Nandita absolutely normal holding the baby in her arms. Yash was so boggled that he looked at the doctor dumbfoundedly and the doctor replied, "Don't look at us!! We too are surprised and its nothing but a miracle and I just don't understand how the baby came inside the ICU. Yash asked, "How are they both? The doctor replied, "We checked them and they are absolutely fine as if nothing ever happened. The God Himself saved both of them. The vitals and the health of your child is just like a normal born baby. It's a miracle that she got cured within a few hours and I don't think there is any need to keep both in the hospital. You can take them home tomorrow after completing all the formalities. Yash was very happy on hearing the news but Aparna was very upset however she maintained a content smile on her face. Yash went near Nandita and kissed on the forehead of both her and his daughter and said, "You were right Nandita! There is something or someone who has protected ou daughter. Nandita had tears in her eyes and said, "I have finally become a mother! Now someone will call me a mother. Aparna said, "You two should not behave like this in front of my grand daughter! Finally, the next generation of the Sood's has started. I am so happy!! Finally we have our heir and thank you Nandita for that. Nandita had a smile on her face and Aparna held the baby's finger and said, "Hello child! I'm your grandmother and welcome you in the family! God bless you! Nandita kissed on the forehead of her newborn child and hugged her.
