Vidhi was struggling to balance the heavy bowl in her hand and also trying to find the washroom to fill it up with hot water. She tried remembering the way as directed by one of the maids, which she was mentally reciting given her poor memory with pathways. As she was walking she slightly stumbled upon the carpet and her memory has betrayed her as she has feared. She forgot the last turn whether it was to right or left. Praying to Milaapini maa, she planned to go to right first and if it was wrong then she could make a quick exit from there and go to the left room. She opened the door on the right without knocking and was extremely embarrased to see the scene in front of her. She has just gate-crashed upon what looks like a couple's private moment. The husband on his knees with his hand stretched out, which was held by the wife lovingly.
Vidhi ( mind voice ) : Hey milaapani maa.. yeh maine kya kardiya.. maine yeh pati patni ke private space mein aakar disturb kardiya. Aur yeh to woh.. woh.. ladki ke bhai lag rahaa hai.. matlab yehi woh hai iss shehar ke sabse bade business man. Vidhi teri to ab pakka lanka lagne waali hain.
Vidhi : Ji woh main.. main.. mera naam chachi.. woh garam paani mein kaam karti hai.. woh Vidhi ke parlour lene aayi hoon.
Dev immediately got up and looked at the scared girl in front of him. She looks barely out of her teens and by her dressing, he can quite tell she is definitely not a guest. He recalled her gibberish talk and comprehended that she probably was the beautician in search of hot water. Vidhi, who was already scared by Dev's personality was now petrified with his towering personality over her. She was now mentally preparing for a thorough scolding as she is used to getting from her family especially chachi. But what happened next was something she has never expected.
Dev : Aap theek ho.. ghabraayiye mat.. aapko garam paani chahiye na chaliye mere saath
Vidhi : Ji??
Dev : Mere saath chaliyen
Vidhi : Ji
Vidhi quietly followed Dev out of the room and was very much surprised that he did not say anything to his wife. She turned slightly and from the corner of her eye looked at the visibly upset lady and did the man appear to be relieved to be going away from the room or was she imagining things. Dev took her to the opposite room and helped her filling up the bowl. Vidhi now had another concern about how she could carry the already heavy bowl which was now filled with water. As if reading her mind with a glance, he went and called a maid through the intercom who appeared in a jiffy and carried the bowl to the lounge area as instructed.
Vidhi : Thank you sir.. aapne meri bahut help ki hai
Dev ( mutters ) : Thanks to you
Vidhi : Ji??
Dev : Nothing.. aapko kucch aur chahiye
Vidhi : Ji nahin
Dev : Ok then
He was about to leave when he noticed her getting jitters again.
Dev : Yahaan se straight jaakar left mein jayenge to wahaan par jo steps hai.. usse niche jaayiye to direct lounge area par pahunch jaayenge
Vidhi was shocked that this man has relieved her tension not once but thrice today, that too without her expressing properly. This was a new thing for her as she was always low on confidence and by the time she mustered some courage to speak her mind, she would lose her turn to speak. This led to her always being on the listening end and following everything her family said. How she wished that there would be someone like him in her chaotic life too.
