Suppose I get marriage proposal from some random person in the city..he may belong to my caste but my gotra are same..I won't get married to him ..

But if I get proposal say , from my mother's side..may be her sister-in-law brother's son..then I can get married..because that son may not have the same gotra..because his father come from different family.Different bloodline altogether..I know it is confusing..😆

I have to confess I'm not one for religios rituals etc. whilst I admire the tradition and sense of ancestry associated with it, I have become very jaded, perhaps I have seen too much in my line of work. I can't help it ,I am a product of my environment and life experiences. I am myself from a multi ethnic,multi religious background .But I'm not religious by choice. And whilst I enjoy being able to lay claim to many ancestries , I realize this can be problematic for many other people. I have found that people like to compartmentalize others ,you are a so and so from so and do and therefore you must think so and so!!😉 And I just don't fit into their boxes, so...whatever! Such is life!

You bet it is!! 😉Now I understand why you have to get married so early, it takes time to ensure that everything is above board!! Are people ever nervous about marrying someone they don't know very well? Or is it just so natural that no one even bothers?
