That would be highly unusual here! Girls of that age are usually studying still, post graduate work, or building their careers, traveling etc. Women usually live on their own for a few years before settling down. Does that ever happen in India?

Sita, my sister is a physician, doing a sub specialty ,28 and unmarried! She's not even concerned, and neither are my parents!! 😉

Most of my friends and colleagues got married after 30, a few got married in their late twenties! But I'm sure they're some who marry right out of college at around 22 or 23 ,but thats not the norm in most western urban areas. Marriage is delayed, as well as childbearing.

aajkal the incidence of infertility is also so much on the rise that as a doctor and infertility specialist I would be happy if my patients come to me earlier than 32 yrs of age.!!!!

And I'm older than my sister, unmarried by choice at this point!!😃

My career is just not conducive to marriage at this point, too much travel, and for long periods at times ! I've lived on my own since college, and like my independence! My married friends are always complaining of lack of time, money, sleep (kids) and not bring able to travel easily.they say their lives lack spontaneity , I guess the grass is sways greener n the other side ! 😊 Buthen again, expectations are high in western society and complaining s a national pastime!!😃

Haha! Good one! Fertility rates are definitely down on this side of the world, but where there's a will ? Some women are resorting to freezing eggs and surrogacy as a last resort! Then again, some couples, very few, choose to remain childless as well! But it happens.

there are many people who do that here also..but most boys in India get married beofre 30 ..and so it is difficult to get good boys later..
