In our ancestral village, its a grand occasion as we have some Bhajan Math and they have some event similar to Dahi Handi. In chennai we don't do much except small pooja and some special dishes.

yes neelu,they will follow the north Indian date only...

I am having another grave concern now after seeing parichay,BALH etc...i hope it does not happen that way..i dont even want to share it and set you all also into worrying about that...

bt in mumbai its even more big ...ppl start practising months b4 handi .and ere are prizes of lakhs of rs. on many handis ... lyk if u break the hand u will be gifted with those lakhs n corers of rs.

I will be in Chennai at my parents place starting tomorrow till the weekend. Seedai preparation is in full swing.

Only thing a bit unfortunate is that Mom is Ram/Sakshi fan so its going to be BALH at 10:30, I will have to catch NBT during repeat. The Janmashtami sweets/savouries are going to be adequate compensation though
