No offense to your opinion, but I think the problem is difference of perception. Most people who are discussing Megha and her matchmaking are bothered with the character distortion. The precap on the other hand would bother anyone who doesn't want trouble in the paradise.

I mean technically, the three points you listed - what do they indicate. A showdown, right? So we all know that's coming. They're adding details and nuances to it every day, sort of building up to a climax - which we cannot predict about being well implemented or not - but the point is, there's nothing out of line in showing a build up to a high climax. For me personally, as a viewer, these are the rare moments where something is actually happening on the show. I'm not particularly keen about a big blown showdown, because there is a 50% probability it will herald family melodrama. There is also an equal possibility that the showdown will actually lead to consequences, likely drastic, which finally propel the story from this stalemate of over a week into some motion.

As for Megha. Lesser said, the better. The character distortion - and yes, it's even worse for Rashmi except I don't care so much about her changing colors with her clothes - but with respect to the female lead, it is bothering. How do you even explain a character like Megha being a "weel-wisher" for Mohan and trying to get her back with a woman like Rashmi who finds it so easy to ditch whoever she is with wherever to seek out the "deceptive greener pastures" she doesn't have at that point? The fact that Megha is actually shown feeling well and moved by Rashmi's oh please spare me sentimental nonsense just stands in contradiction of sensibility at large. So this woman has not bothered looking back at Mohan in years. On her abrupt reappearance, she takes digs at him to the extent that it compels the friend in Megha to pull off a daring act in his defense. And now this same friend is so touched by Rashmi's lingering love strains for Mohan? Really? What kind of Yash Raj movie does she suppose she is scripting between Mohan and Rashmi?!

So to make my point - I personally think the aberration in Megha's character is more about looking at the big picture. She is the female protagonist of the show - and she is the one who is going to go long term, not Rashmi. Whatever chaos Rashmi, and the showdown will cause - however bombastic in it's duration - it is only an incident in the passing, and Rashmi and all the trouble she brings along just a passing phase. Speaking for myself, Megha is the bigger problem. The match making may seem just like a passing fancy on her part as a woman who holds relationships to that esteem - to me, it is a crack in the making of her character, something that defies the kind of understanding of fidelity and stability of relations you expect from a person like her. She may be, and is, naive in the wicked ways of the world - but that she cannot see through the superficiality and shallowness of Rashmi's love claims - wow. When she was doing great, pretty perceptive of the same less than a week ago. Not saying it's a problem with no fix - doesn't mean it won't bother me at this point!

"I think the problem is difference of perception" <--- Quoting you and i totally get your point here but then, look at it this way - Two people, newly turned friends ---> Mohan&Megha (highly sensitive to each other's emotions) will always try their best to try and read each other right but sometimes one friend's situation (Mohan here) is so complex, his state-of-mind only makes sense to himself only, to such an extent that even though his words do manage to voice out his thoughts once or twice, clearly, but his expressions and body language tell altogether another story to his friend (Megha).

I realize that Megha's not realizing Rash-me's not being worthy of Mohan reflects on Megha's lack of analytical and character judgement skills but i feel that Mohan is at some level responsible in having misled Megha into thinking that he still has some soft feelings left for Rash-me which he's trying to deny to himself and to all the world because he's bitter. As much as i realize that some wounds can never heal, but Mohan's going all mum in front of rash-me, his eyes going intriguingly soft with a "far-off" expression in them, whenever rash-me addresses anything to him, be it an insult or inviting him to her engagement, does make even me feel as to what's really going on in his mind (but then i know that he loves Megha) but Megha doesn't know that. His expressions and irritating dumbness around Rash-me does give off weird vibes, it's very hard to interpret for anyone, even for guru-who knows Mohan inside-out, let alone Megha of all the people. So again, i am repeating myself here that Megha has very good measure of the person that Rash-me is, but while matchmaking, Megha isn't thinking of Rash-me but of Mohan's state-of-mind, she's puzzled by it, she thinks that Mohan still loves her (honestly the way he received rash-me's engagement card from her hand!!!😕) and so she's trying to analyze Rash-me's feelings now. She wouldn't be shown to force her hand and will on Mohan, only suggest and test Mohan.

We really do have a gap of perspectives. 😊 Megha wanting to solve his problems. Check. Megha wanting to bring him out of whatever signs he still shows of having had a past. Check.

But Megha not understanding where Rashmi comes from? If they hadn't aired those initial episodes at the mart, cafe, more importantly the Megha Jiji conversation where Megha charts out exactly what Rashmi is about - I would have been resigned to accepting her lack of analytics and insight. But that they show her going from smart to slow - in a matter of days, established by scenes like Rashmi throwing some lines at her? If she honestly wanted to help Mohan overcome his past - she would be pushing him back there? With the woman who left him without missing a beat? Okay, forget that she left him once. She is ready to leave her fiance even now! The same guy she couldn't stop raving about. Just because she suddenly rediscovered her feelings for Mohan? And yes, Megha knows Mohan is unattached, does Rashmi? For her he is a happily married man who has finally settled in his life putting behind a past. And a woman who tells his "wife" about her lingering feelings, has good intentions in Megha's lofty love ideals?! I also want to add the way she talked to Guru to the list, but that's probably insignificant for Megha given that she's missing the much bigger signs. Sigh.

Honestly - there is just no way I can find justification to her matchmaking intentions. And like I said, this kind of distortion feels more consequential in the long run to me, as opposed to having a large scale showdown with MM against the world - the latter can be melodramatic and even a temporary drag - but it's still within the the defines of characters and plots. Yes, I really wish there was a different treatment of how this showdown happened for revealing truth to Rashmi - but the greater bother is still Megha's character making lesser sense with each twist. It's not like the showdown will end this distortion, right? From where it seems to be going at the moment - Megha's matchmaking is going to be doubled in effort after Rashmi knows she can still have Mohan And god forbid if the writers actually plan for a love confession between MM coming out of Mohan's frustration with Megha's matchmaking - like come on! These are two people who have intuitive understanding of each other at a very fundamental level. Megha trusted him by default even when they were at odds. Mohan trusted Megha having nothing to do in the Prateik chapter without a moment of doubt. And now they want to show Megha actually believing Mohan's happiness lies in getting back with Rashmi? It's one thing she cannot sense his feelings for herself - I'm totally okay with that side of her having seen repeat play of that trait - but I cannot find conviction in how Megha has gone from being the one who was getting Mohan his closure, to the one who is dragging him back into the mire. Second chance at love? Really? For who - Rashmi or Mohan?

You know WHAT !!! If given a chance of choosing between 2 EVILS, I would choose the Evil of Megha playing the MATCH MAKER rather than the WHOLE FAKE MARRIAGE fiasco coming out in front of the Vyas parivar. We KNOW (hope) ultimately / eventually MM WILL COME TOGETHER as a couple.. WHAT I DO NOT WANT is NBT going the vomitrosious route of Vyas Parivar (Megha will not have the support of anyone EXCEPT JEEJI) taunting Megha and questioning her character or her faithfulness to her husband or ANY OTHER CRAP like that. She genuinely thinks of Mohan as a friend and THAT is the reason she helped him. I know it goes against her character, as she STARTED this "being married to Mohan" stuff BECAUSE SHE DID NOT LIKE THE WAY RUSHMEE SPOKE TO MOHAN :( BUT, like I said, I am choosing THIS EVIL.

I am hoping that the Receipt that landed SOMEHOW in Mr.Vyas's hand is covered up or diverted like the sequence of Mohan hiding behind the sofa. Renu DID ask for a sari, and to make it more melodramatic, they would also, I bet, land up in the same Sari Shop, so it would be wonderful IF they could somehow make the receipt come into the Vyas's home by mistake, like Megha or Renu picking up the wrong package????

Is it a hint that we got that Sunjay has been invited to his boss's son's engagement? Is it Gautam he was talking about? Obviously Renu and Sunjay WILL attend the party If Megha goes there as Mrs.Bhatnagar !!! *****SHUDDERS*****

I DO NOT WANT THIS FAKE MARRIAGE FIASCO TO COME TO THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE VYAS'S, PERIOD!!!!! If Megha tries to play cupid between Mohan and Rushme, it is up to Mohan to deal with it. It is UP TO Mohan TO STAND-UP, FIND HIS TONGUE and tells Rushmee that he DOES NOT LOVE HER. He DOES NOT HAVE TO REVEAL his feelings for Megha. He DOES NOT HAVE TO GIVE Rushmee A REASON. That way, Megha's integrity will be intact and once Amar's case is solved, we can have the family drama. Cause, even IF the Vyas's agree to let go of Megha, there is Mohan's Mom .. She will not agree for her son to be married to a widow with 2 kids !!! If by then Megha develops feelings for Mohan, she will have the support of her family.

SOOO, PLEASE CVs .. DO NOT GO DOWN THE ROUTE OF DEFAMING Megha WHICH WILL HAPPEN IF THE ENGAGEMENT COMES TO HAPPEN AND THE TRUTH IS REVEALED IN FRONT OF THE WHOLE COMMUNITY. PLEASE DO NOT GO THAT ROUTE.

Res as i'll back later to comment in detail

Ok my apologies for getting back after a whole day but naukri naukri hai 😊

@ Without-fathom
Yeah indeed, not a teeny tiny gap either but then that's where the charm of debating lies.
As much as i don't fancy dissecting Rash-me's character (b/c it might come across as too boring to read) but your post demands it, so here goes and by what follows, i don't intend to say that this is what's right, rather i just feel that this is the purpose of the CVs showing the Rash-me drama.
These two common expressions will highlight what i try to state here:

"There's always two sides to a story just like two faces of a coin"
"Never judge a book by it's cover"

Mohan-Rash-me love/heartbreak story - She left him apparently quite bitter, broke his heart for materialistic pursuits, and she has serious lack of love for her country as well. That's Mohan's side of the story which makes Rash-me all shallow,self-centered and all that is bad but that's where first of the expressions stated above come into play. Ever think of the other side? Even so-called bad people find in themselves to love someone with their whole heart 😊 MR love must have been two-sided, right? As we already know, Rash-me also asked Mohan to go with her so they can be together but even he didn't, so in that sense, even Rash-me would have been broken? Being a south-asian myself, i know lots of people who go abroad to chase their dreams and go on to settle there, holding these same views, their country not meeting their expectations so they choose to go to what they call 'greener pastures'. Not everyone, at a young age, can know and hold onto the true meaning of love. Even Mohan in the supermarket said "Woh urna (fly) chahti thi tou mein ussey kaise rok sakta tha". There's no harm in being ambitious

Now as to Rash-me's character traits, now this world is not supposed to be filled with people categorized as "good" and "bad", instead the "good" people do possess multiple layers to their characters which are in some situations termed as their "gross inconsistenceies", and "bad" people do happen to possess some redeeming qualities in them as well. People are not so easy to read through, neither in real life, nor apparently in NBT and that's where the 2nd expression up there comes into this debate. Rash-me, left heartbroken all those years ago, comes across Mohan in the supermarket and vents out her anger/wistfulness in the form of insulting Mohan and trying to pull him down (because she hasn't found the same happiness in love which she had with him, in all these years) and on being confronted with Megha (as his wife) she becomes even more wounded, hence comes the coffee shop episode. Like us, Megha also got affronted at such show of brazen shallowness but the farmhouse episode followed and from there Megha got to know that Rash-me acts this shallow around Mohan as she is still seemingly "in-love" with him, even more now, when she is so close to her engagement with Gautam and Mohan is there in front of her, his seemingly happy life provoking her to regret and remininsce about their shared past. As far as what went on b/w Megha and Rash-me in the saree shop, Rash-me telling her about her feelings for Mohan..come on man!! leave alone Rash-me's bare truth about her feelings, Megha's question there wasn't exactly very routine to begin with. Megha, in all the sensibility and knowledge of Mohan's being a bachelor still, did ask Rash-me a very candid question which A REAL WIFE of any man would never ask his ex-gf so Rash-me was so correct in giving a candid and honest answer to a very unusual question.
Now Megha started this mission to help Mohan find closure to his past but on knowing the situation better she is free to change her tack, right? The strategy changes accordingly right? It's very common in everyday life as well, isn't it? Anyways that's my take on this phase of NBT and on Megha and that's what I think that CVs are trying to convey as well. To be shown planning and plotting, they would have given us some insight into Rash-me's mind in the saree shop as well but her genuine goodness towards Megha is supposed to have shown us that Rash-me till now was trying very hard to come to terms with her existent feelings for her ex-love Mohan who now seems to be happily married and all in love with his wife, but now that she has, she has resigned herself to accept and be happy with what fate has decided for her in the shape of Gautam so she doesn't resent Megha and Mohan anymore.
