I dont find anything unrealistic, or illogical.. In real life, destiny makes even more unbelievable situations, and IMO, I'm ok with what is shown in NBTNMKK, and the concept of a bachelor getting married to a widow with kids is acceptable to me..

Hey, really good question yar. Now coming to d answer to ur question; i can't comment about d entire country but i know an office colleague who being a bachelor married a widow who has a daughter from her first marriage...yes, there were hardships initially with d guy's parents not accepting d lady but today after 2 years of their marriage...they together are a "one happy family". But there's also one more very imp. fact to b taken into account...The lady just yesterday told me that whenever they wud have a child of their own...there wud an added responsibility of not letting any child have any inferiority or superiority complex! But that's a different topic. Right now all d 3 of them r very happy n i always tease dem that NBT is based on their love story!! It wud b good dat ppl draw inspiration from such ppl n such stories n open up their minds a bit!!

Its not very common but certainly not unrealistic. There are many ppl in real who have married widowed or divorced women with kids. Initially the guy may certainly face in problem in making his family accept a widowed women with kids as their Daughter-in-law. But if he is strong and convinced about the relationship, later even parents agree. But still they may prefer that their son marries a normal unmarried girl.

Yes true. Sometimes reality is stranger than fiction. I remembered a quote from Mark Twain - Not sure if these are exact words.

Fiction is obliged to stick to possibilities; Reality isn't.
