Gaji is sitting in his room in a pensive mood. Sunehri is packing her suitcase. She notices Gaji sitting with a sullen face and goes to him and asks him not to miss her a lot and to go and get her back from her father's place when he feels that a lot of days have passed by. Gaji asks her why was she discussing his husband with the people from her father's place? Sunheri tells him that they have come to visit her, so of course they would be inquiring about her family and Gaji. Gaji tells her that she was so happy discussing about her husband that she did not mind them calling him a 'bina dum ka kutta'. Sunheri is surprised but she covers it up saying that Gaji shouldn't take to heart what women discuss about their husband. When Gaji insists that she was continuously running him down, she was busy enjoying. Sunheri retorts back saying that Gaji should stop yelling at her because whatever position Gaji enjoys in the house is because of her as she has saved him in countless situations. Without her, Gaji would probably cease being a son of the household and would have probably joined Yashpal and Dalbir as guards. She further tells Gaji to stop exercising his right as the husband by yelling. Saying this, Sunehri barges out of the room.
Ammaji is feeding the pigeons when a girl comes and touches her feet. Sheela introduces the girl as Gunja, who is a happy, go-lucky girl. Ammaji tells Gunja that her name sounds like the peals of a bell; she then asks Sheela to take her in and show her around the haveli so that she could start her work.
Sheela and Gunja bumps against Gaji; Gunja introduces herself to Gaji; Sheela tells him that Gunja has come to help them all with the household work as well as look after Rangeeli who is expecting a child. Gaji looks thoroughly surprised.
In the kitchen, Santosh, Chanda are preparing breakfast while Rangeeli is drinking water. Sheela brings Gunja to the kitchen and introduces her. Gunja tells them that she can work as fast as four people and hence, everybody else should take a break. She starts singing while preparing tea and her optimism is infectious. Jhumar comes into the kitchen enquiring whether tea is ready. GUnja replies that it it so and says that she will go and give tea to everybody in the house. Jhumar tells her to go and give to Gaji while she would go and give it to Ammaji - these two people usually got angry when tea was not served on time.
Kateeli has taken a bath and is doign nautanki in front of her mirror. In barges Avtar, in an angry mode and blasts her left and right. he tells her that a person who is so unfeeling about others is bound to face a day when she is all alone. He then goes to Chanda and tells her that they need to go ASAP and talk to Ammaji about the situation. Chanda is worried about losing her baby again. Avtar tells her that if she gives it to Kateeli at the end, then she will lose the baby again. Chanda replies that probably the baby would be safe and grow up in front of all of them. She decides to go to her maayka for some time and requests Avtar to bear with her for time being. Avtar tells her that he is willing to do so on her behest, but only for some time.
Raghav comes to the ktichen and enquires if breakfast is ready. Santosh asks him to go and sit down and that she would send Sia with the breakfast. Raghav tells her that he wants to take breakfast for Sia this time. Sheela Chachi, Chanda and Santosh are tickled. Santosh asks him where it is writtent hat a man gains punya by serving his wife? Raghav jokes that Sabtosh has not read Raghav-Shastra 😉😲 where it is written that a man must do so. He then tells them that Sia has always been there for him, in every situation, even when she was angry or heartbroken and has never let him down. He now wants to do all the small things to keep her happy, to understand her and her priorities and to show that he cares. The women look at him understandingly. He urges them to hurry up as his plan would get spoilt, if Sia gets ready and comes down to the kitchen earlier.
Gunja goes and serves tea to Gaji, who is thinking and thinking all the time. With her innocent but happy words, Guja convinces Gaji to have the tea before it becomes cold and enquires whether Gaji needs any medicines or not. Gaji tries to brush her off but can't. GUnja tells him that her Mama is the driver at Sheela Chachi's maayka and that she stayed with him and her Mamai; her parents have passed away long back, however, they loved her a lot. She wondered whether she would be as loved in the haveli now that she is away from them. Gaji smiles and reassures her that people will love her in the haveli as well. Once Gunja leaves, Gaji thinks that the girl has managed to leave a smile on his face before going away.
