Round 2: Sukhwinder Singh

nice up-beat number. great high-notes. clear pronunciation. but i think it is comparatively easier to sing than his other songs. i think, the low-notes fade out a little, they are not as effortless as the high-notes. not a great fan of the lyrics here, but overall a nice entertainment, but not a great song for me, i would like to give a 8 to this song.

Man I hate this song. I don't know what made Javed saab write such lyrics.

i agree with you. but in terms of singing it is a job well done. i had mistakenly written 9, gave it an 8.
the lyrics are absurd definitely.

Disappointed risingabove put this song here. Will give it 8 for Sukhwinder's honest efforts. Don't know how it became such a big hit, its a bakwaas song with bakwaas lyrics according to me.

Wow really like the voice, the rendition and the song. He truly has brought out the spirit and emotions in the song. Full marks 10. 👏👏👏

Atif Aslam's songs are even big hit. That doesn't mean that we appreciate him as a singer. You also told me that you consider Atif as besura.

And personally I love the lyrics too! Javedsaab was asked to write a parody song - to satirise the meaningless lyrics that we hear in dance songs these days. (He had to do the same thing in Sajna Ji Vari Vari too!) Even with a title like 'dard-e-disco' he wrote some nice lines like

'Fasl-e-gul thi gulposhiyon ka mausam tha, Hum par kabhi sarghoshiyon ka mausam tha. Kaisa junoon khwaabon ki anjuman mein tha, Kya main kahoon kya mere baankpan mein tha.'

Anyway I'm not here to discuss lyrics. The singing was good - great modulation, expression, nuances and special Sukhwinder-style 'voice breaking harkats'!

The main difficulty I have in rating the song is that how can you compare this with 'Kal Ho Na Ho' or 'Lakshya'? It's like apples and oranges - donon ka apna hi ras hai.
