I would say saome are blessed with good musical sense even though they are not trained... but with formal training in music they can bring out finesse in their singing...Mohit like in one of his interview said nature is his music, I feel that guy does have singing abilities and he can fine that art if he gets some training....it snot like he is besura... Singers (I shuldn't even call them with this name), like Atif Aslam are all techinically modified singers... he is not even blessed with music, so such singers might take 10 year for formal training opposed to the musically blessed who might take 2-3 yrs... I have heard Mohit in Khoon Jala from RDB by AR Rahma...and yes he was good and I cud emotionally connect with him...but nowadays popularity takes preference over quality... Farhan Akhtar being nominated for Rock On in singing is a shame...

Well that is why all these awards suck. Not only Farhan even Aamir got nominated for Aati Kya Khandala. 🤢
But seriously man you do not think about all the judges who make living out of it. Things outside your opinion say....blah blah blah...
Man I am missing him. 😆

I miss the good 'ol days when Latadi, Kishore da, Rafi sahab, Asha di and the likes sang...we didn't have to worry if the singers were singing right or not... cos only a good singer got achance to sing... I feel I shud tell my neighbors 2 yr kid who shouts at the top of his voice, to be a singer or moreover a mentor on the a show like this... he can get a good earning...

Rafi Saab...what to say about him...his voice caresses my ears like honey, pure joy raining down on my mind...
So glad that we have someone like Sonu Nigam today due to which Rafi Saab is still alive today within us.

Not only tax returns but also how big the stadium when a certain singer (?) peforms, how loud he can shout, how many caps does one posses, everything counts.😊

Sonu and Shreya has adapted themselves to the new world.

Sonu sings Chiggy Wiggy beautifully.

So my question is what the new singers of today do to get opportunities in bollywood.

Do they change their style????

Mohit,Mika, Benny Dayal are sucessful and giving hit songs so shall we accept that they are singers since some members say that they are not singers at all.

dude donno abt benny dayal , but mika and mohit are very settled and successful

mohit is in the circuit for the long time if u heard "dooba dooba" or silk route songs. Its just alternative music is not praised in india and all singers have to suck up to the film music directors one day

and mohit's voice has such a different charisma - i must keep him out of the wannabe singers or the reality show products

mika is also good in his own terms , just bcos he is a punjabi singer we can never say he is not great , he does that great for what he is paid for

if he does all the punjabi songs with awesome rendition , then he should be admired

There is no replacement for talent and/or formal training.

Look at the 5 singers ruling today- Shaan, Shreya, Sunidhi, KK and Sonu. These are the top 5 singers in playback music industry and all of them are either formally trained or informally, doe snot matter, but they are trained.

For example- KK and Sunidhi amy not be classically tarined but they ahve the pitrching, key, sur all in control. Not only in control, but more. They know how to sing songs with versatility and ease.

then we ahve Shreya who is classically tarined and reaping success from such a young age. Can someone not traine dget the same success? By success I do not just mean being the top playback singer, but getting National awards, having songs specifically written fro her etc. Can Alisha Chinoi get that? I think not.

then even Sonu and Shaan have got classical training after stepping into Bollywood. Means they take their music seriously.

But none of these 5 singers are aise-waise singers, or run of the mill Like Himesh, Mika, Mohit, Benny etc. These people are differnet, and their success can be a combination of many things. I can't imagine anyone in the latter category getting national awards!!
