Thank you for appreciating my hard work in searching and posting all the videos. I am not a Toshi fan out of the way but yes he was my favorite in the SVOI time. And I like the pace at which he is achieving success. He has films lined up still as a music director and singer and yet he is participating as a contestant in a reality show. But hope he becomes more humble and also becomes the Toshi we knew previously during SVOI time.😊

Toshi is an awesome singer not doubt. However, his performance on this show has been very bad and disappointing. Some of the marks he gets like 8 or above are not deserving at all. On this show he is unfortunately besura and most of the time out of breath. I don't know what is going on.

Infact, lot of my favourites aren't doing as well as I was hoping.

Both Toshi and Sharib have grown from reality show contestant to singers and then music directors and then lyricist. Toshi especially has become a versatile music talent. I do not like their attitude nowadays a bit but frankly speaking nobody in the history of reality shows including even Shreya or Sunidhi has gained so much success within a single year of their reality show participation. Shreya, Sunidhi etc. have not yet turned even music directors or lyricist though they are great singers. Toshi has attained all these within a single year.

Even some of the judges in MKMM like Shreya and Shaan have sung under Toshi and Sharib's music direction in movies like "Jashn". So, the two of them especially Toshi might be feeling a bit awkward. I am still a Toshi fan and hope he returns back to the Toshi we know even in reality shows soon. I would say it was wrong for them to contest as a participant after being established as a singer, music director and a lyricist already in the industry. They are not very big but they are not too small right now too. Toshi especially has received success at an unbelievable pace and all the big producers and directors are giving him work both as singer, music director and gradually lyricist.

Hope he returns back to form and gives us the great songs in reality shows too once again.😊

Very nicely said like a true fan.
Yes fame should not get into their head. They should handle the fame in a nice way on public platform.

<<. But frankly speaking I have also felt a bit sad listening to his songs till now in MKMM. He is not sounding the Toshi I know. I also read a few threads regarding it today here. But then I again checked all the songs he has sung in Bollywood movies till now. Frankly speaking after listening to his songs I would say that Toshi is not yet lost. I also do not like the fame getting into his mind and attitude but no reality show contestant in India has reached so much success within a single year as Toshi has reached.>>

First of all I thank you very much for putting your efforts to create such a nice thread on Toshi/Sharib Sabris. Secondly, there's a movie coming in 2010, called 'Phir'. The two songs that they (Toshi and Sharib) have on Phir are infact quite good. Those two songs can be posted under your thread. Infact all the songs that Toshi/Sharib sang for Bollywood films are indeed quite good. They need not all be chartbusters like Maahi from the movie Raaz2, but they all at the level of 3-stars or above. If you grade Maahi a 5-star. Saiyan Ve from the movie Jail can be rated a 4-star. Minimum grade that they earned so far, in my honest opinion, is at least a 3-star.

Now coming to Toshi's live performances at MKMM shows, I would rather say his performances were mixed. I think both Toshi and Sharib are trying to prove themselves as upcoming rockstar-like personalities in Bollywood films' music scenes, or the corporations that are backing up the Toshi/Sharib duo are marketing them as upcoming rockstars like personalities specializing in hindi/urdu fusion of rock beats and Sufi-Quawali melodies. And this is just fine and suits perfectly with them. Look at their pictures now, look at them at Nadia Khan's show from Dubai, how polished they look, smashing, total killers !! And young women seeing them perform on stage, like they did at MKMM, like they did in Aman ki Asha show in Dubai, like Toshi did in Gwalior at NRIITM (http://mk.bgvip.tv/play.php?vid=27252895 ) etc. would melt in their heart. No wonder Shreya Ghosal was prompted to say, after hearing Toshi sang 'Sainya' at MKMM on Prianka Chopra night, that Toshi should have sung it more softly so that Shreya's heart could have melted away to Toshi. Perhaps Shreya remembered how softly Toshi sang 'Sainya' at SVOI competition in front of Dia Mirza. Anyway at MKMM Toshi's smiling answer to Shreya was that perhaps her heart was taken away by others previously without explicitly naming Rahul Vaidya, or Hemachandra, or Mika Sing himself. Shreya promptly answered back to Toshi saying no,no, Toshi cannot assume that!! Basically saying Shreya's heart is still open for Toshi. :) In fact Shreya gave Toshi higher marks in Toshi's next two performances, namely, Maahi from Raaz2, and his performance with Raja Hassan singing "Paisa, Paisa". But Shreya again gave lower marks on Toshi's last 2 performances, namely when he sang against Harshit (even though both Toshi and Harshit got the same total marks), and then again when Toshi sang ' Yaa Aali' against Debojit Saha. May be Shreya got upset because Toshi wasn't singing the way he should have. Well for one thing Toshi's voice was cracking because of so many powerful live performances, not just only at MKMM, but I think during MKMM they also went to Dubai for Aman ki Asha show and performed live their and Toshi sang Dan ta naa from the movie Kaminey, and the Twist song from the movie Love Aaj Kaal, and Maahi from Raaz2. And then at MKMM on Episode 2 both Toshi and Sharib opened with fast loud numbers like 'Dan ta Naa' and 'Chhaiya, Chhaiya' respectively and brought the whole crowd on their feet. In fact if you go back and see the Episode 1 and Episode 2 of MKMM you will notice the difference in crowd participation in these very first two episodes. In Episode 1 the competition was between Himesh's team and Shaan's team. Raja, Vineet, Aishwaria are all winners or runner-ups of various competitions, and so are Debojit, Harshit and Anwesha from Shaan's team. But none of their performances could bring the public on their feet as much as the first 4 songs of Episode 2, sung only by Toshi and Sharib. I never saw Toshi taking on fast number like Dan Ta Naa in his days from SVOI, Ustado-ki-Ustad, or JJWS shows. No wonder Aushman Khorana made a comment that people should make thousands of "pronam" to the mother who gave birth to two sons like Toshi and Sharib. And just then the tv camera focussed on the judges and showed smiling Shreya clapping hard at Aushman's comments :) . Anyhow, coming back to Toshi's singing in particular, his singing is melodious indeed in the movies, but not a sugar-coated melodious like Shreya Ghosal, or Anwesha, or even like Rahul Vaidya, or Vineet, or Avash, or Aneek Dhar, or Amanat Ali, or even like Raja Hassan. Toshi's melodies are drier, kind of haunted, just like Maahi, Maahi from Raaz2. Toshi's sugar-coated melodies would be song like "vaada-raha, I promise", smooth enough and not sugar-coated sweet, and still haunted. I think probably Toshi's songs would play in the background more than coming from a hero's mouth. For the perfect example see videos of 'Phir'. But rocking dancing songs are okay, like Saiyan Ve from the movie Jail. So to finish up, Toshi's singing in MKMM was rough, and he must have noticed that his voice was cracking, and that is from trying to over perform at so many live shows. Toshi and Sharib have become professionals now, and should perfectly know how to maintain their voices for decades to come now. Also, their status have increased immensely just in an year and half now, not just by their singing, but they are composing their songs now, and also writing the lyrics, indeed !! Just watch the Nadia Khan's show, and Aman Ki Asha show where they performed. Amanat Ali was also in that Aman Ki Asha show.

The bottom line is both Toshi and Sharib's performance sucks. Their attitude sucks too. Had they not been music director , they would be struggling to sing a song for other music directors.
