Does anyone know why Amanat Ali is...

not competing in this show. In my mind & many others, he could have easily been declared the winner of the 2007 show (Aneek & Raja were also awesome). In terms of talent, i think it would be a treat to watch him against those two awesome singers. He is really versatile, and i think that his head-to-head clash with Raja in 2007 (when he sang yeh hosle when Raja was intially eliminated) really showcased how good both those singers were. Under Shankhar, I truly believe that this show could use him hybrid mix of classical and modern style of singing.

He's back in Pakistan and he's got an album out, which has done pretty well. He doesn't need these shows anymore, which is a good thing for him. :)

good point and i have also followed amanat since SRGMP 2007. I just think that he could increase his exposure in India if he would participate in this kind of competition (where a lot of exposure is being given). I think he could easily be one of the top singers and could hold his own on each team. Raja and Aneek have both improved since SRGMP, and i would love to see one of the best three way competitions back at it.

As Sophia said he is beyong the reality shows. Amanat has mentioned that long time ago he has done with the reality shows. The second thing is that at the present time the environment in not very friendly for Pakistani singers in India since 26/11 so even he wanted he cannot come although he mentioned that he had offers from the Bollywood industry. Thats my two cents maybe I am wrong.

Even though don't live in India, I still probably should have been more cognizant of the socio-political environment there. I guess this was more of a wishlist on my end..
