Main badsoorat aadmi hoon - Himesh
Music director turned singer turned actor Himesh Reshammiya believes he is a badsoorat man.
"Mere liye actor banna utna hi mushkil hain jitna ek common man ke liye hain. I am not a born actor or even good looking. So I am working very hard and everything is in God's hands and it is up to the audience to appreciate me. The success of aap Kaa Surroor has given me confidence," says Himesh, who has big hopes from his Karz remake.
The man of few words further adds, "Sab log, Pooja Bhatt, maheshji, Mathew saab aur Bhushan ji mere angels hai aur mere par kitni mehnat kar rahe hai toh unka enthusiasm dekhkar muje bhi lagta hai ki I cannot let them down and I must give it my best shot."
Speaking on his contribution to his transformation, he says, "Presentable dikhne ke liye maine ice cream khana chod diya hai, meine work out se weight kam kiya hai aur doctors ne mere baal ko bhi uga diya, mein ab jeans aur jacket pehenta hu aur dieting bhi karta hoon. Log bahut picky hain toh sab kuch perfect hona chahiye."
Talking about Karzzzz he says, "Rishiji ek behtereen actor hain aur bahut good looking bhi aur unhone ek landmark set kiya hai. Ek saal ke baad log meri awaaz Karzzzz mein sunenge. Karzzzz ke waqt pressure bahut tha kyunki mujhe music bhi path breaking dena tha aur logon ke expectations bhi bahut high hai. Toh I hope logon ko yeh music pasand aayega aur meri acting bhi."
Himesh was last seen and appreciated by the audience in Aap Kaa Surroor: the Moviee and he is now working on five movies which are Pooja Bhatt's Kajraare, John Mathew Mathan's A love Issshtory, Satish Kaushik's Karzzzz, Mudh Mudh ke na dekkh mudh mudh ke and the sequel to Aap kaa Surroor.
Speaking on why his movie titles are spelled numerologically, he says, "Destiny plays a greater role in success than talent. Everything is God's doing. He decides our success and failure. Sometime we misunderstand that people are very talented, if they are then how do you explain failure? Success is a combination of God's blessings, hard work and creativity. Numerologists are angels who guide you!"
Himesh is learning how to speak Tapori for John Mathew Mathan's A Love Issshtory. Obviously he has been influenced by Sanjay Dutt and Aamir Khan.
"Mein tapori ka role kar raha hun. To kahi na kahin Sanjay aur Aamir ne ek landmark achieve kiya hai. Tapori logo se baat karne mein mujhe bahut mazaa aaya kyunki they are fun loving and down-to-earth people. Yeh comedy movie hai aur mujhe lagta hai ki comedy is my forte."
Lastly he tells us why he doesn't do playback singing anymore and how he takes criticism in his stride. "A playback singer has to relate to the movie's character but people think only of me when they hear my song. That's why I am only going to compose and sing for the movies I act in, so that people can relate to the character also. As far as Dasavatharam is concerned, the music was composed a year ago. I like it when people criticize me because they think I am worthy enough to talk about and their comments only push me to improve myself."
"If God wants me to, I will be successful," the maverick composer-singer-actor sings off.
