yes it has a big contribution because u dun just liten 2 da lyrics of a song u listen 2 da music, music which will determine whether the overall song is nyc or not, i av cum accross many songs wiv beautiful lyrics but dissapointing music which makes da overall song less appealing

What would music be without them?

Some songs become more meaningful when they have good lyrics. You are able to relate to the song for example, you can relate to a lovey dovey song when you're in love and the lyrics may describe what you are feeling. In emotional songs, such as love songs, i believe lyrics are a vital part of the song.

However, i have heard many many songs where the lyrics are so weird but the beat to the song is soemthing you can move to. In these kind of upbeat songs, the lyrics aren't as relevant to the composition of the song.

to me n i think to everyone lyrics is most important cuz i write poetry each n every word has to be sumthing u can relate to n wording has to be special not fake

n singer has to sing frm heart like ma sonu n himesh lolz

n music directors r also big part cuz if there is gud singer gud lyrics n not gud music u can listen to da osng but not enjoy fully

To me it goes like this"50% credit goes to music dir.20% to lyrics,30% to singer.I f the tune is not catchy than nobody remembers anything.There are so many examples like "achaa to hum chalte hai".there is nothing extra ordinary in the lyrics but song become hit.Credit goes to M D.In our hindustani music they dont give importance to the wordings.Its all about sur.Someone has said that it is the lyrics that shows the situation,agree but again if music is not good then nothing happens.Actually this is something personal,if u r a singer, then first thing u remember is the tune,and if ur not a singer then is all about lyrics.But the truth is that every thing goes togather to make a great song 😊
