Me n my friend (co singer) used to have fun bickering with she objecting to me changing the tune of the song 😆 It was also in recording but i cut that part 😆 She wud complain to the percussionist (in a fun way) ye na tune change karta hai 😆

Fun fact- i hadnt heard this song before singing - It was her choice to sing and we had become friends at that time so she requested me to sing with her..

Another one - The phrase chura liya hai tumne jo dil ko - before singing this phrase, i was imagining how rafi would have sung it and hence i sang it that way - fortunately that percussionist expressed his admiration for that! So credit to rafi for making me sing that particular phrase in that style.. However when i heard the song, i realised rafi hasn't sung it that way..

One more - The part badal ke meri tum zindagaani - the variation here was spontaneous - it was heavily inspired from sonu sirs style and it amazed all the listeners present in our rehearsal room 😍

Ps- Im only sharing personal experience! Sorry for this essay 🙈

Well done Spidey! So you are good with words and have a singing talent too. Your voices compliment each other so well too.. And.. This is one of my favourite songs.. A classic.. ❤️

Riya, you sounded like both Asha and Lata. I know it was sung by Lata and Usha. You really managed to show that the song is sung by two different singers.

Thanks so much, Raji! Since this was a female duet, the biggest challenge was making the transitions seamless and without a lag. I'm glad you think I was able to do that PLUS making it seem like it was sung by two different singers (Lata and Usha's voices are very similar. though, at least in this song). Thanks for listening!

Hey Spidey, this was a really good cover version of a classic (You hadn't heard this one before? smiley3 I thought it was one of the most popular classic songs!)

I totally noted the variation on 'Badal ke meri tum zindagani' and you say it was spontaneous? That takes a lot of courage and confidence because it could totally go wrong especially in a live performance where you have no chance to correct it, so kudos to you for attempting it and what's more, delivering it pitch perfect!

PS: I thought the music kinda overwhelmed the female singer's vocals but yours came through perfectly.

Oh I can suggest plenty. But they will only be classics - is that ok? Cos I'm pathetic with songs after the 80s.

Do you wanna try

Aaj kal paon zameen par (Ghar)

OR

O mere Sona re (Teesri Manzil)

I understand, but believe me, you won’t traumatize anyone! smiley9 This is a safe space and everyone here has been super welcoming. Besides, it’s not a contest where anyone will be judging you for your skills! smiley9

Side note: For me it’s the other way round, I am terrified to record my speaking voice but singing I’m able to do now after I got over my initial bundle of nerves and noting the generally positive reception ☺️
