I wasn't a big fan of Saigal initially (my dad was and owned his collection) but I grew up listening to him and the more I listened, the more I had to admit his command on sur is unbeatable. He seems to render songs with such consummate ease, it all seems effortless in his voice.

This song isn't easy by any stretch of the imagination, but I tried with and without music, the music was just the karaoke track playing on YT while I recorded on Vocaroo. smiley36

My goodness! 👏👏👏 The song is very difficult as the surr literally flows from here to there. You were so good. That "kyaa aa aa" has my heart! Brilliantly sung.

Hearing this one after many years!

I loved both the versions. ❤️

It's such a shame that you can't participate in VoIF. Not fair! 😞

I have not yet heard the original song, just knew the 1st line. The tune seems pretty difficult but you sang like a pro. To me this is one of your finest performances. 👏 The clamness in your voice was too good here. I don't even feel like listening to the original song anymore, your version will always be the first one for me.

*Lag gaye chaand mere naam ko* You sang that "gaye" word soooo beautifully at 1.34 and towards the end. I literally heard it thrice or so. ❤️

Very very beautiful. ❤️

Tagging NP, as I think you forgot him. He would love it too.

Thank you so much, Charu! I'm extremely glad that you listened to the song thrice. Please listen to the original song too. It's very beautiful!

In duets, they allocate the lines with blue and red colour mostly for the two singers and you can sing your lines from either of two colours and the next person has to sing other lines. Now for this song, none of the track has proper lines distribution (of Kavita & Shreya) and as the lines are too fast paced and doesn't have any space in between, it is becoming difficult to record for me. I tried a lot. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Sorry yaar.

I think for beginning, we should select some simple song for our duet. Need to again search for some good songs.

I and Laxmi faced the same issue with Mann Kyu Behka (Utsav) too.

Koi baat nahi. Hum dono future mein kisi aur song pe duet kar lenge. smiley1

Nice! I liked the second version (with music) more. I never heard the original song. But I shall listen to the original song too.

Aap to chhupi rustam nikli smiley3

This is quite a difficult song. I had heard it first in Lata Mangeshkar's album called Shraddhanjali in which she sang songs of other singers.

So this is the second time I'm hearing it in a female voice and I must say u did an excellent job. Kudos to you.

Although both versions (with & without music) were almost equally good but I liked the 'with music' version better. Though I think voice control was better in the non music version.

Thank you, all, for your effusive and encouraging comments! smiley27

This song is indeed difficult to sing ...like you said, Charu, since the sur literally jumps and so quickly that you have to keep pace.

About VoIF... main theek hoon. smiley9 I like to sing for pleasure and leisure, and competition adds a layer of pressure that I don't need in my life right now smiley36

The words: He Pritam Roop Dikhaaye Lubhaaye Ya Te Jiyara Akulaave

Hamari Haay Buriya Jag Mein Rab Jin Birhaag Jagaave

(Meaning: Means whenever I see God, Its so difficult for me to survive in this world, I will renounce the entire world and Take Vairaagya)

Loved your rendition and the meaning behind it too 😇

Kosha, it is truly an honour to get to witness your splendour on this forum smiley32smiley31
