I saw a song from Taj Mahal - paanv choo lene do - has been already posted but I think this one fits the theme perfectly.

Jo baat tujh mein hai

Film: Taj Mahal (1963)

Music: Roshan

Lyrics: Sahir Ludhianvi

Singer: Mohammed Rafi

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K-LpErDQEps

There's a thin line between praise and objectification and this song seems to fit the latter especially since he's singing this to two women! But well, I guess it fits the theme.

Tauba ye matwaali chaal

Film: Patthar ke Sanam (1968)

Music: Laxmikant-Pyarelal

Lyrics: Majrooh Sultanpuri

Singer: Mukesh

Aye mere zohra-e-zabeen

Film: Waqt (1965)

I don't typically post songs from the era, but this song is breathtaking in the metaphors and similes it creates. It does not praise the girl's beauty directly but the guy sings about how looking at her makes him feel and that is definitely praise!

Wonderful tune by RDB and the lyrics by Javed Akhtar are exquisite.. probably the best he's ever written.

Ek ladki ko dekha toh aisa laga

Film: 1942: A Love Story (1994)

Music: R.D. Burman

Lyrics: Javed Akhtar

Singer: Kumar Sanu

Another 90s song that fits the theme quite well. They're both trying to one-up each other talking about their respective beloveds (only his doesn't exist! smiley36 Yet.)

Adayein bhi hai

Film: Dil hai ke manta nahi (1991)

Music: Nadeem Shravan

Lyrics: Sameer

Singers: Anuradha Paudwal and Kumar Sanu

Jaan-e-bahar husn tera bemisaal hai (her beauty is beyond compare)

Film: Pyar kiya toh darna kya (1963)

Music: Ravi

Lyrics: Shakeel Badayuni

Singer: Mohammed Rafi

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q6dVti1YVwM

How did I forget this? This should have been top of the list... although the praise is for the rainy night he met her, it's made memorable because of her! What lyrics by Sahir! One of the most exquisite songs in Raag Yaman imo.

Zindagi bhar nahi bhoolegi

Film: Barsaat ki Raat (1960)

Music: Roshan

Lyrics: Sahir Ludhianvi

Singer: Mohammed Rafi

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5cohx2f10wU

Although this song is meant to be sardonic - it's directed at Shammi who DK is clearly not interested in but he's meant to praise her beauty so he does, I'm still posting it because the lyrics are filled with praise.

He is willing to pledge the wind, the night, the moonlight for one single 'act of performance' by her. Ada means more like a style or an attitude that is usually put on and not genuine, so there right there begins his subtle mocking.

And 'mujhe kyon na ho teri aarzoo. teri justajoo mein bahar hai' is directed at himself and the conditioning by society. She clearly stands for eveything that's desirable in a woman, so why wouldn't he when longing for her would only mean 'good things' (bahar/ spring) for him?

What a great song!

Ye hawa, ye raat, ye chandni

Film: Sangdil (1952)

Music: Sajjad Hussain

Lyrics: Rajinder Krishen

Singer: Talat Mehmood
