L M Montgomery's series Anne of Green Gables. It is based on Anne, an orphan who is adopted by two elderly siblings and they raise her. The stories revolve around the small hamlet, it's people and things. I haven't read the books yet but they're very popular.

The show Anne with an E. There have been multiple adaptations of the same.

It sounds interesting. But is it a classic? I find those hard to read but I'll give it a try. I'm more into contemporary.😆

it's a 100 year old series. But the people, their emotions and portrayal is as modern as it can be. Hence the song Ahead by a century
