Himesh Reshammiya's film to be launched at Berlin Film Festival

MUMBAI: It was only recently that Himesh Reshammiya performed at the Wembley in London and had an auditorium of 17,000 people swaying to his tunes. It was at this very concert that he also announced his foray into acting with his debut film Aap Ka Suroor - The movie - The Real Love Story.

The latest on that front is that on 13 February, the film will be announced at the Berlin Film Festival. Confirming the development to Businessofcinema.com, Reshammiya says, "Yes, the Film Commission of Germany will announce my film at the Berlin Film Festival."

Prashant Chadda director of the film adds, "It is the first time that a Bollywood movie is being shot in Germany on such a grand scale. Approximately 40 per cent of our film will be shot in Germany. Prior to this Bollywood films have been shot in Germany merely for song sequences."

Reshammiya will be accompanied by Chadda and producer Vijay Taneja for the Berlin Film Festival.

Talking about his film Reshammiya says, "The film will have a continuous schedule from mid February onwards in Germany, Spain, Italy and many more locations. The film will be ready for release on 6 July 2007."

He further adds, "It is a very unconventional film that will follow commercial parameters of Bollywood cinema. As the title The Real Love Story suggests, the romance angle in the film will be real, but the remaining part is fictional. The film is a musical thriller."

Gary Powell of Casino Royale was recently signed as the action choreographer for Reshammiya's film to work on three action sequences that are integrated in the film.

Himesh Reshammiya is in a mood to confess. And is ready even to share his love story. it needs a lot of cajoling though. "Ok, I'll tell you that she was from Delhi. She used to make French onion soup for me at 4.30 in the morning.

Without a complaint, she gave in to this odd demand of mine," is all he is ready to say. But what does he mean by "she was"? About the present status of his relationship, he says, "We are not together but we may be in the future. My film's an extension of my love story. People seem to be worried about how all the girls leave me in my songs, now they'll know why."

He then goes ahead and takes out a scarf his girlfriend gifted him. However, the scarf is kept at a safe distance, so that nobody manages to read the message inscribed on its inside. "I can't show you that," says Himesh.

And why does he look so serious all the time? He quickly admits, "I am shy. People misconstrue it as arrogance. It is one of my complexes." And this is not the end of confessions, there are more. "Today, I accept that I am a nasal singer. I've been a fool not to admit this till date.

People have been saying this forever and now I agree. Also, I'm proud to be so," says Himesh with a wink, he's made a mental note not to smile. OMG!!What happened to Himeshji..what is he saying?"She was"!We are not together but we may be in the future"

I have heard he is maried and he has a baby.Then what is this?? Hope everything is okay with him. Also he has shown the scarf to the reporter, hard to believe, he is sooo secretive.

And now He is saying himself Nasal!!Gosh then what should we call Kumar Shanuji?? 😕

Why is he saying all this!!

I believe he is quite mature and will do what is right...but i dont know why i dont like the way he seak in this interview.I feel like crying😭😭

Rahman-Reshammiya in New Year face off

Himesh Reshammiya has unexpected competition from really stiff quarters.
A R Rahman will also be performing live in Mumbai for New Year's Eve. Says the shy composer, "I'll be singing an antipoverty song, Pray For Me Brother in Mumbai at a live performance for New Year's eve."
The number is special for Rahman not only because of its social message. "It's my first song in English. You can call it my gift to myself on my 40th birthday," Rahman smiles. Interestingly, Reshammiya who claims to be a huge Rahman fan, has his first Mumbai concert lined up for the same evening. Ask Rahman about Reshammiya and he says, "He fills a lacuna in Hindi film music, just like Nadeem (of Nadeem-Shravan). He's trying to mix a lot of genres. People like his music. There're audiences for large genres of films. And he's doing a good job." Himesh has previously said Rahman is the only composer he would sing for if asked to.
