first my ignorance abt this instrument. 😊
so i am looking forward to learn a lot. -

1. it has 6 holes and one back hole..
what is that back hole for ? - The back hole is where you put your thumb. Its part of the sound you get whn u blow into it. If ur back hole isn't covered...you will get a diff sound, than whn it is covered.
2. what is the ocatave range.. i mean the range of ur clarinet.. how many different notes u can play on it. --

ohh..there are LOTS!! In the starting the clarinet was the easiest instrument...like in gr.7..but now ITS HARD. I dun how know many notes in exact..but there are sooo many, because there are soo many keys on the clarient..and because there are so many types of notes..there is flat notes, sharp notes..etc. Its crazy, I tell you...CRAZY!

😆😲
3. Flute too has these 6 holes type.. and to play b (flat) or (sharp) etc.. they cover the hole half. how do u get these notes in clarinet. and on Flute some masters cover 1/4th of hole..and play some notes, do u also do something like that. - In the clarinet..no you dun cover any half holes..I mean I never have. You cover the whole hole, and if u dun u dun get the right sound, that's how it works.
4. do u think, that playing clarinet for longer period will have some effect on ur lips or cheeks. ? -- Well your mouth will hurt. Whn I use to play in band...after practice..once I had a big cheese burger for lunch..and I couldn't even open my month to eat it! It HURT!
5. what was the longest duration, for which u kept playing it continuously ? Well I can't hold a note for long..but I can play for up to 45 mins...

*Ahem* *Ahem* Hi Megz.... 😈
-- Naina. Hi . 😆😆

Here are my questions:

* Is there anything that you would like to learn to play beside a Clarinet? Yah, a saxophone! 😃

*Why did u choose clarinet as the instrument that u wanted to learn to play? - Because the keys looked cool, and it was shiney. 😆😃 Really..lolz..I swear that was the reason

*Which song/composition do u play most often on your clarinet? Why?

I play the Tempest the most, because its my fave piece.

*Who is your inspiration(some composer or player)?

Nope. Lolz no inspiration. 😆😳

*Name a song/composition that you would like to learn to play on your clarinet

In band, we played the theme to Mission Impossible..but I SUCKED at it ..lolz..it wasn't even funny...most ppls were play perfectly (except me and this guy) lolz..and we would just fake the notes..it was soo damn hard. That's the piece I would like to learn lolz. I unno..the other ppls just got it ..and I was like .." umm..yah, sure...I get it 🤔"

*Pls describe a clarinet(its basic function, stucture and use)?

Oyeeee check Reema's ques. I explained it to her!😆

*sigh* fine..I'll tell you too!🤔

Hehe..ok well it has 7 parts. The bell (where the sound comes from) 1 main part, the other main part, the barrel, the mouth piece, the reed and the ligiture.

*Are clarinets used to compose hindi songs?

I have no clue lolz. I guess u can use them...but I dunno lolz. 😕

*Name an english/hindi song where you have clearly heard a clarinet being played in the background?

Oyeee..I dunno..whn u hear one, tell me. 😃😆

.............So happy answering megz 😈 😆 😳 --I think u got ur lessons from Manjot already. I see the evil developing in you.😆

Congrats Megzy 🤗

Actually, my question is an offshoot of Vishesh's question on ranges 😆

I have heard that there are different types of clarinets, such as C, A, B flat...why is this the case? is it because each type of clarinet is for a specific key?

What kind of clarinet do you have?

There are diff clarinets for diff flats? Really, di? Lolz..I swear I never knew. The clarinets in my school..I guess are the normal ones then..but it's possible to play all the sharps and flats in a normal clarinet. Lolz. I never heard of C, A, B, clarinets.😕

What kind of clarinet do you have?

Well I actually don't have one at home. I play from the school 😳..but since im in Band..my clarinet..at school..is only mine, meaning ..no one else plays it besides me 😊. My one ..there..is a wood one.

Vishesh, C# = Db even in piano 😆

I know this is not my interview, but generally, the different note names are written for convenience.

For example: in sheet music you will notice that at the beginning there are a bunch of sharps or a bunch of flats which make up the Key Signature. When you have the key signature, you dont need to place sharps and flats for the notes in the key.

E.g. D major key has 2 sharps (F, C)
A flat major key has 4 flats (B, E, A, D)

The C# in D+ is the same as Db in Ab+...written differently as its more convenient.

I agree, Vishesh. Now I know why my High School music teacher said that he could never play the clarinet properly 😆

Kudos to you for learning it, Meg! 👏 👏 👏
