"Itna chotasa aadmi aur itni badi awaaz!" remarked Rekhaji. We were at Mocha's sipping some steamy cappucino as Kunal Ganjawala recounted some of his treasured memories. "This was during the recording for the songs of Bachke Rehna Re Baba when Rekhaji paid a visit. I was recording for the sultry track, Tera Husn to be picturized on Mallika when the diva did a raincheck.
Govind Menon, the director introduced me to her, that's when she remarked the above. Must tell you, I had one of the warmest rendezvous with Rekhaji. I have always regarded her as a person with a keen seen of people and the most marvelous memory. So I was euphoric when she said that she loved Bheege Hont.
She then went on to say that I wasn't like most people that she met. While I couldn't take my eyes off her gorgeous kanjeevaram sari that she had draped so gracefully but this I remember her saying, "Kunal, you are quiet, composed and articulate, keep that going". I thought I had arrived that day!
