NO D did not make a place in his life coz of her similarities with S. thts trivializing it. he was first impressed with her business acumen.. her multi-tasking skills.. he grew fond of her coz of how much she bent to take care of his family.. so much so that he had faith in her intentions when the SR fiasco happened. its the same trait that he still admires.. (altho for her seva to Sabina)..their sense of understanding and trust was tested during the jail track.. u rem the life is serious business bit.. but do u rem what D told him b4 tht.. we have lived together for a while V-ji and if you think I am a honest person.. have faith in me.. he went out of his way to try to prove her innocent..

I never saw him being 'impressed' with her on ANY level . I saw him being mighty impressed with Sabina , yes , but NEVER with D . There is not a single scene to date where he has dwelt on D's goodness like he keeps thinking over and over again of Sabina , her basti interactions , her simple nature [ enjoying sweets like any roadsider}.
His entire behaviour with D was polite , well mannered , gentlemanly and out of a sense of duty that Charu has imbibed in him .
The helping hand he gave her was just that .It NEVER was coz he impressed him . He helped her coz he had that rare objectivity that is a hall mark of his character , again , inherited from Charu . IMV is NOT objective on purpose . He chooses to be subjective and enjoys it as he feels he has earned that position in life . His objectivity in assesing human beings is something entirely for his own purposes .
To this day we see him dutiful to D and thats the stark truth .
The ONLY time I saw him look at her with appreciation was on the birthday . Sabina shud NOT have come back then , V and D were just beginning .
The friendship was very clinical . Clean , frank , practical , like two colleagues who jell excellently on a project .
He has the HOTS for another woman and he has to date NOT seen D with those eyes even once , hell , he has not even TRIED .
Devki has been IMPRESSED with him , yes . She has noticed how he accepted Dalichand as Sasur publicly , How he admitted him in rehab and gave him a chance , How he convinced her to have the business capital . D was impressed with V , it NEVER was the other way around. .
The help given in the business to CP enterprises was , a logical way to keep EVERYONE happy as Vaibhav himself told IMV later . It was to ensure she wud not conflict with his father , it was to ensure he did his duty by her too , it was to ensure that ALL wud be happy . It was not being enamoured of her business skills . That was a miniscule part of it .
Frankly , Devki has SUCKED at business . She gave away Swing air to Sid when it was offered to her , invested crores in a film that was not taking off , opted to go to meet Yogini [ CP} in Charu's ashram when V was fixing appointments with lawyers and wanted her for Vaibhav Floats Meetings , She does not even KNOW what she wants in Life ...she is trying , very childishly to be for Vaibhav Floats AND CP both and has shelved CP enterprises for the time being only to pick it up for an emotion ...Love For Pati .
She HAS to date not proved excellent business acumen like Sasur ...by recognising a good deal when she saw one and picking it up for the sheer love of business .
Vaibhav has proven that he has inherited his father's intelligence in business . Devki is YET to prove it . IMV noticed spark in her , was impressed and thats it .The story remains THERE , we have not seen deveopment in that spark .
Whatever Devki did on the homefront , Vaibhav smiled and accepted . IMPRESSED is too strong aword I feel for that acceptance .
IMPRESSION has been made by Sabina alone . He keeps repeating , SHE changed me . Maybe she did . The inherent humanity that he inherited from Charu , maybe Sabina the catalyst tapped it .
These r my two cents on their relationship . I am not challenging your opinion , am merely telling u what I saw .😊 Much as I want this pair together and S out , I cannot say what I failed to see .
Your comment on the silence of elders equalizing the silence that Devki held by not revealing truth of her compro marraige to protect their feelings was interesting . But
They r ELDERS and shud know that silence on serious matters FESTERS things . She is a mere child , an innocent one who believes in UTOPIA . Had she told someone of her bedroom life , Who knows , by now V wud be sharing the bed with her , first out of duty , then , out of attraction .😉 { that happens with most men in arranged marraiges} . Had the Elders told her the truth about Sabina , this DISASTER wud have been AVOIDED .
Her silence was innocent and inexperienced and hence excusable in my eyes [ What did she think exactly HOW long was she gonna stay like that with V , had the poor dear given it a thought by exercising that Utopian brain } but the silence of the ELDERS ...was inexcusable as they were seasoned and could have stopped all this .
When Youth makes blunders , The Aged have to intervene and take over is my firm belief .
Due to that silence , D will feel shocked , humiliated , foolish and crushed when the truth is revealed . I want to see that moment and I hope they do justice to it instead of showing her like Subhadra .
