Hey guys. Been ages since I posted anything on Roadies. Had been quite a regular poster on Roadies 6.0. And Didnt really follow Roadies 7.0 from start and only starting seeing it in mid jan.
First of all, I kinda lost interest in Roadies after 6.0 because honestly speaking, I thought the season was quite bad. I used to like Sufi at tht time, but when I saw the rerun of the show, I found almost all the tasks ranging from horrible to average, almost all "twists" predictable & lame and all the contests being bad or average (Even Sufi and Nauman). And then I heard, Rajiv and Raghu were no longer involved with Roadies, So once again I lost interest (Not that I am fan of them but I loved seeing them tear apart contestants during Audition - my favorite part of Roadies). So, I only saw the first episode of Audition and then lost interest as Cyrus was neither funny nor intimidating as the judge.
I think it was the second episode of the 7th season when I saw bits and pieces of a "kabaddi" task with 2 Indian Wrestlers. The contestants seemed slightly "boring" to me then. And I took an instant liking to Zaid and instant disliking to Vikas in that bits and pieces.
After that, I missed like many episodes and when I finally sat and started watching Roadies, there were like 10 contestants left. I think the episode was where Vikas was brought back and some girl got voted out or something. After that I was hooked to the show. Reasons? :-
1.) For the first time in Roadies, there have been some real good Performers. Real good and equally tough. AmritPaul, Mohit, Zaid, Anwar.. all are pretty good contenders and all are very good performers.
2.) Raghu and Rajiv's absence might have made the show look slightly "bland" but it sure as hell saved the show from all the lamest twists in the world which sidelined the tasks and performances.
3.) The tasks, in this season, are much, much better than both 5 & 6 season combined. And the best part is that in each task, there are some real good performances.
4.) The contestants, for the first time, look smarter, less b#tchy and "mature".
I dont know about many contestants but for me, the trio of Mohit-Zaid-AmritPaul are excellent. They have not only been the best performers of the show but they have shown a bond like never seen before in Roadies. It would have been real good to see these three go for the main prize in the final but sadly, Amrit got voted out in the last episode. Amrit Paul was the most deserving Roadie out there andit was like first time where I almost became "emotional" after a voteout. Hopefully, he will be given a chance to come back later onwards as he was a hell of a performer.
About other contestants, I didnt really bother as these three were the main attraction to me. Anwar is a powerful performer. He can talk and at the same time, perform. Though his character might seem "evil" to some, but he is a deserving canditate for the Main Prize. Coming to the other two left now, Meghna and Gill, I dont know much about them. Meghna talks too much and Gill is a horrible, horrible performer judging by the last two episodes. Ameya and Priyanka were good "characters" but somehow didnt seem strong enough (Blame it on the trio for making everyone seem weak). Charlie was quite irritating and everything about her screamed "Wannabe" to me. That Punjabi kudi who looked more like a southie, talked alot. Vikas was a pain to watch and I am glad I am not watching that item anymore.
My Only complain about the show is the dreadful Irfan Khan and the "sins". I mean it is so ridiculous. Its not even clever. They give them only one option and that option is some sin and then later blame them for comitting it.. I mean, atleast give them a couple of options and if they perform the sin, then get the twist in.. But NO! Just for the heck of it, they get Irfan to come out and give his worst performance and claim they have comitted a sin. Which is quite stupid in my opinion.
So, only 5 are left till now. And though there might not be enough "excitement" for people, I feel there is some real great task to come. Will miss Amrit's performances though. The trio's performances made the tasks seem more good. I would like to see one of the three win, though my personal favorite is Zaid. Amrit Paul would be the most deserving one though.
🤔 I only hope Roadies management team dont mess up from here... and try to sideline the tasks in order to get some more "masala" to the show..
Thats it from me on the show so far. 😊 Whats your opinions.
