Agree. And Virender isnt that cold hearted too or has a vicious tongue, just stoic and stern.... but can still talk to him and vice versa etc.

I think they want to show, how stress of being widower, missing his beloved wife and being Mukhiji makes him older . I am sure when PurVir romance starts he will look younger .

I also think Virender is around 38-40 yrs old.

All the other actors like Sudha's husband look way older, and probably are it.

Giving Virender the salt and pepper look adds to his character, ppl in their late 30s and 40, do get white streak in their hair etc... and add in his stress of him as mukhi and also the trauma and grief from his late wife added to it
