Waiting for it Skep
@ Dawn This is some information
Yesterday I watched this latest Movie Kambakht Ishq.
Initially I had decided to bunk it the thought never mind will see it for AK and Sly.
So coming to the movie I have no words to describe how mindless was it. I would rate it as a total crass comedy Kareena looked good dressed well and wore some amazing shoes. Ak was as usual on his trademark comic performance passing smart ones with a straight face.
So the movie had nothing new to offer in the terms of acting. However I never went for performances.
I dont know why they wasted Boman Irani and Jawed Jaffary and why did they take up those roles (recession I suppose) Imagine a fine comic like Boman wasted total in a two scene role and Javwd went around calling himself the biggers suer in America.
Sly looked old and grand (s he is) Denise Richards was a major dissappointment she looked haggered needs some Botox urgently.
Anyways I enjoyed the movie in parts but it did went overboard when it came to Battle of sexes. I couldnt understand why AK fell in love with Kareena while he was trying to bed her. ANd how come Kareena fell in love with him anyways I leave it at that your comments welcome.

@ Skep ....... About time too !!!! I thot you had forgotten the travelog !!!!
Q Ranju ...... I watched the review of KI on TV and it was described as real bad .... crass & vulger comedy they said ....... So I didn't feel like watching .......
I really love AK in comic roles .... not a big fan of Kareena ..... maybe I should watch it for AK
It's unfortunate that Bomman is wasted in a minor role ..... I'm a great fan of his ....... I totally loved his negative character in "khosla ka ghosla' .......
You're right sometimes that take this battle of the sexes thing to the limit ....... and somehow the comedy turns vulger .......
Well ..... i guess I'll watch and then comment on the rest of the film ....

initially though i had other reasons for not coming online..... i had gone to the book store and gotten a truck load of trashy novels........ Julie Garwood... Mary Jo Putney and other authirs who write novels of the M&B variety..... and oh bought 4 novels by Georgette Heyer as well...... now those remind me of Jane Austen....... anyways when i start a novel i cant rest til i have finished it so normally novels take precedence over both TV and internet.... plus an over load of load sheddings meant that i stayed away from internet and hence ended up reading pretty much the whole day........ the novels are finished now... am waiting for my bro to come home for the summer hols..... his first order of business will off course be taking me toi the bookshop 😃

BTW my reverse sleep cycle has reached ridiculous proportions😆 i now go to sleep after having my breakfast in the morning.....around 8... than i read the paper and than go to sleep around 9..... its driving my mom mad...she's like paglon ki taran saari raat jaagti reti ho😳 wait til my bro comes home...since his holiday sleeping habits mirror mine....except for the fact that he wakes up earlier than me..... i guess my mom will b going round the twist......😃

We descended on the tiny airport at Prague. We were met by the hotel's car and were soon on our way to the hotel.

The young man who drove us couldn't be more than 23. He had a quick smile on his face as he asked us, "You from India?" and I nodded. "Oh one day," he continued, "I will go to India. I love your films!" I was surprised but Shahrukh Khan had already made cultural inroads into this country. Anyway I wasn't here to discuss SRK.

I took in the wonderful scene around. Greenery everywhere. The weather was beautifully cool, just a little over 20C. After the long flight that was not altogether something to rave about, I felt I was in heaven. It was a country that had been behind the Iron curtain but had still managed to retain its rustic beauty that was as yet untouched by commercialism. My fatigue dissipated as I breathed in the fresh air. Cars smoothly moved along clean spacious roads. They were not fancy cars. Except for Skoda. That is a Czech car. The city of Prague was a jewel like place. Prague is widely recognised as one of the most spectacular cities in the Old World, and is among the most-visited destinations on the continent. And it's not so without reason. Nicknamed 'the City of a Hundred Spires', 'the Golden City' and 'the Mother of Cities', it holds a place of pride in Europe.
We soon nosed our way to the hotel. It was a good hotel and was called "Crown's Plaza". We were told by the hotel staff that it had been the military Head Quarters of the country during World War II. But it was a beautiful hotel and I couldn't see anything military about it. We had to take an evening cruise down the River Vltava (pronounced as Vultava). It was at 6.30 and now it was just 2.30 pm. Thank God !! I had some time to lie down. It was 24 hours since I had flattened myself and I was yearning to do just that.

So we got ready for our first evening in Prague. A city which I was going to see shortly from a cruise boat. We were driven to the jetty where we boarded the boat. It was huge, and had two storeys. The upper deck which was open the middle one where the dinner and music was to be and the lower one was reserved for our group.

Anyway we went to the upper deck to sit and enjoy the scenery and take a look at all the old buildings. It was a bit cold but we had our woollens with us.

It was not a very wide river but was wide enough. The waters flowed gently as did the boat. We were going to be afloat for more than 3 hours. There were a few ducks and a few swans too. On the riverside, holiday makers were sitting and enjoying the weather which was warm by European standards. The river divided at a point into a fork. Trees lining the banks, washed their leafy tresses in the cool dark water. Blossoms which were blown by the wind fell in numbers on the water to form floral mats. Oh it looked so beautiful. We wined and dined and heard the singer crooning on the middle deck. Suddenly I felt so free, so much at ease and so elated. I stretched out my feet but drew my cardigan close around me for as the evening wore on, there was a nip in the air. I took in the sights of old castles and forts all around us. And of course the numerous churches, that were made defunct during the communist regime. There were several bridges on the river connecting one side of the city to the other. The most famous is "Charles Bridge".

Night fell and we went down. It was impossible for us to sit on the upper deck since it was so cold. The city lit up.
The old buildings were flood lit. The golden lights reflected on the river set the river ablaze. It was indeed breathtaking………. Europe had a magic of its own….. as usual.
