I lived in Assam for a good number of years...😊 But, want to explore the NE completely as a tourist, when one lives in a place, one never values it, there is another day to pay attention to details, and that day never comes and then it's time to say good bye.

About Shillong will write later, have to look back and remember the whole experience again... 😊

waise those posts did clear up a few things..for a while i have been thinking jo's married and she's online til three in the morning.. now i know...u and your husband are both night owls (btw.. did he joined IF?)..waise i still dont get where u get the energy... u are online til late at night.. go to work and u r than online even in daytime.. when do u sleep? my colg reopened after the vacations on Monday...stayed up late a couple times and crashed into my bed after coming home from colg the nxt day.....my mother tried waking me up at around 5 but i didnt get up til 6pm...IF has completely screwed up my timetable😆

since my colg reopened on monday, i have been getting my exam results one by one...have got the results for five of the subjects...still have three to go...

i didnt go to colg today....luckily as it turned out cos we didnt have had a sinlge class...so my friends suffered in the cold and rain...and thnx to one of our teachers, their mood went from bad to worse.... one of my teachers only gave a couple of As in the class (both were borderline.. on 80%)... rest were Bs and Cs😡... the reason?
1. she doesnt like the way we write our answers!!! and she doesnt get how we have managed to reach our final year considering the way we write😡
2. how can u get an A in literature?😡
my class fellows argued that our writing style has been the same throughout and no other teachers had any problems but no, she wouldnt listen😡😡😡 I was lucky in th sense that i got a B but one my friends was given a C and she had so far the highest %in the class..the reason? her writing style....dude focus on the content.. who cares about the writing style especially if other teachers are fine with it???
the thing is in another of r litrature module results given today, most of us scored an A on 90% but this particular teacher was like wen giving out results u dont get As in literature... god i m getting angrier by the moment..
she was much worse during the mid terms.....u would go thru the answer paper and she had written good and excellent and a wonderful analysis,.. but the grade? a B😡😡😡 our class was still luckier...the sophormores got a raw deal...she failed the entire class except for a couple of lucky girls who scrapped thru with 50%s

*sigh* i m glad i let it out here.. though i think this wasnt the purpose of this thread...off course this discussion isnt over...the weekend and the whole of monday will be spent discussing the injustice of it all wit my colg friends.

Oh poor you. Arwen......................... I left behind my college days many many years ago. I was smiling while reading yr post.....not at yr anger but bcoz I remembered my youthful and carefree days at colg.

And you r right, its difficult to get a high score in literature.

skep it was difficult to score an A in lit but under the previous system. we have the semester system in r colg now. so the final grade depends on more than just your final exams. in mu colg the finals count for abt 30% of the final grade...the rest is the mid terms and the assignments and presentations and class participation etc. so its not so difficult any more...in one of the semesters half of us scored 4 GPA...in another i missed out on another 4 cos of one B in one of my literature courses

this particular teacher seems to b a follower of the old system...she came to colg last semseter....had taken a break for further studies and seemed nice enuf (although her teaching style is such that its enuf to make one fall asleep ) but v all got a jhatka when she gave us the mid term results........she had written weldone and a B nxt to it.we tried telling her that things have changed...if the analysis was really wel done than that meant an A but she wouldnt listen! it was almost funny bcos B4 handing out the papers she was like the papers were really good..wel done..we were really happy and than she said....most of u got a B!

like i said she failed most of the sophomores who complained to the head of the dept and than she found that the marking criteria has changed and she re checked..the sophomeres passed but no one got an A 4 the finals v thought she wont do the same thing but apparently she has cos she was pretty generous with the As for the assignmnets and presentaions...u know this time she is like...u dont get an a in lit u have to fight for it....ufffffffff that hurts wonder what she'll say when teachers will discuss our class result in the meeting and she'll find out that majority of us got an A with another playwright with most of those As at over 90% and she's still going on abt the way v write answers even thought other teachers have no such problem....one of my friends wen she write she normally picks one word or a phrase from either the text or some critic or if she just wants to highlight something....she incorporates that in the sentence using the qoutation marks....the teacher picked on this saying that its grammtically incorrect..thats not how u r supposed to write answers...although she has don it with other teachers and they dont have a problem and my friend got a C!imagine getting a C bcos of the way u write rather than bcos of that u have actually written. the other results that v were given this same friend had the highest marks and her writing style was no different...she got 88%in one of the poetry modules when the second highest was 82%

u know i could go on and on about this partiicular teacher...like the fact that she only read out the text in class....there was this wonderful dialogue by one of the charaters....with any other teacher v would have spent an entire period discussing it but she........she said its self explanatory..there is nothing to discuss!!!!!!!! and she seems to carry a particular grudge for r class...she thinks v r non-serious...we should act as mature ladies now...that v r over rated cos all the teachers in the staff room says that this class is so good and intelligent and fun to teach 4 instead of silently listening to the teacher..v argue back and give r own theories and analysis...and we have got her again this semester. damn!!!!!!!!😡😡😡

i m angry now but i know i ll miss all of this like anything when i graduate in june😔 maybe not the teachers like the one on whom i m venting out my anger but the overall thing...my friends, bunking classes, especailly the combined bunks when v would simply msg the teachers that v r not coming today...having a small class is a huge advantage and i ll miss all of this like anything.😭

hey neha😊 was laughing thru out reading this cos i know xactly how u feel.. actually its not so bad with me..i dont have 2-4 hr breaks in between classes.....my problem is the fact that the teachers when they decide suddenly that they r not coming..they msg just b4 the class starts..like today..we had this one class and the teacher didnt show up...she msged the class rep just when the class was supposed to start....lucky that i didnt go to colg today....the worst is when the teacher has a class later on in the day and than she doesnt show up for some reason....😡😡😡 and another thing once my teacher didnt arrive on time for a two hr class so naturally all of us went r seperate ways..like the colg cafe or wahtever.. i was in the cafe with my friends when about 15 minutes b4 the class was suppsed to end, v reiceved the sms that the teacher had arrived and come for the class right now!!!!!! and than she actually had the nerve to say that u r not suppsoed to leave until i msg that the class wont take place!!!! she was an hour and forty five minutes late and she actually ahd the guts to say that😡😡😡what happened to the rule that if a teacher doesnt arrive for a class within ten minutes..that class is not suppsoed to take place??? another time this same teacher asked for an extra two hour session from 3-5... and she didnt arrived for that either and didnt send any msg.. the nxt day she said that she msgd that she wont b able to take the class... that particulsr msg was sent to my class rep at 3 am the nxt morning😆😆😆 so ever faced situtaions like this one???
