The whole lot- he gang, bauji,bui and shilpa are all waiting outside the room where the doctor is examining nupur. Mayank is sitting on a chair his mom next to him. He s avoiding meeting anyone eyes but is sitting with his eyes watching his folded hands in front of him.

bauji is walking up and down . samrat is standing next to gunjans whos sitting on her chair. adhiraj, suhaani with dia are standing a little away benji and uday are the further end of the corridor.

bui s on the other side of gunjan throwing angry glances at samrat.

Nurse came out of the room and said," nupur bhushan ke saath kaun hain?"

All of them move fwd , mayank beating the remaining to reach her first. Bauji , who was standing next to the door itself," hum sab hain. kya hua? Kaisi hai woh?"

"teek hain.", she said with an irritated look," bas do min doctor aarahe hain aur batayenge ki kya baat hain." and went in again.

Mayank stood with his mom holding his forearm , his face expressionless but his fist clenched as if he was angry.

"dids , woh nurse ajeeb nahin lagrahi thi?"

"shut up dodo. "

" teek hi kahaan uday ne, woh ajeeb se hume dekh rahi thi."

"i know benji. Hope ki nupur teek ho." she agrees to benji. uday looks from benji to dia irritayed.

Gunjan called out to her dad," bauji," he came near her and samrat who was standing next to her moved a little back.

"bauji, woh nurse hume itne ajeeb se kyun dekh rahi thi?"

"kuch nahin beta, shayad isliye ki kitne saare log hain nupur ko dekhne ke liye. . usne kahaan na, nupur teek hani."

"tho hum us se mil kyun nahin sakthe?" uday asked loudly.

The doctor who had just walked out , heard him and said," kyunki unka check up horaha tha.," he looked around," woh teek hai. Bas minor si chot yahaan wahaan lagi hain. par usko chakkar aaraha hain tho uskeliye humne test karwaya hain. abhi usko observation par rakhenge. Jab test ke report aajaayega aur tab tak agar woh teek hain, tho ghar jaasakthi hain."

Everyone smiled.

"usko sar pe chot lagi hain kya?" mayank asked

"lagtha tho nahin hain bas to be safe, hum test kararahe hain."

"abhi hum di ko milsakthe hain?"

"haan." He looked at gunjan," aap kaisi hain? aapka bhi check up baaki hain na? Aap aake finish karlo. Abhi aap unse milsakthe ho." He said

Mayank moved fwd first but the doctor stopped him and said

" dekhiye pehle unko apni family se milne deejiye."

For a second, maynak looked confused but then realised and said,

" woh ...shes my wife." And looked towards bauji to see if bauji would want to go in before him. But bauji did nt move forward.

The doctor looked at him surprisd , smiling suddenly said," achha? Good luck."

Before asking him what it meant, there was a scream from inside the room. Mayank ran in followed by the doctor and the others.

" aapkar kya rahi ho?" nupur was screaming at the nurse who was looking extremely angry and turning to the doctor complained," dr, main is patient ko dressing nahin kar sakthi. Yeh tho .."

"patient? Patient kaun hain? "

"Nupur...," mayank walked towards her and sternly said," chup chaap unko apna kaam karne do . woh dressing hi tho karrahi hain."

"par maynak, yeh pata nahin kya kay daal rahe hain mere chot ke upar. burn hojaayega. dekho."

"usko spirit kehthe hain aur woh daalnee hi hota hain chot ke upar. Ab apna mooh bandh rakho aur dressing karwaalo. warna main khudh kardoonga." He said sarcastically and threateningly.

"teek hain. teek hain" and pulled his arm with her free hand and held it tightly.

Dr gave a go ahead to the nurse and smiling at mayank , who was trying to free his arm from nupurs strong grip, turned to the others," aap sab log thode dher ke baad aajaayiye." And sent them all out.

As soon as the doctor walked away, all the rest exchanged glances- and burst out laughing.

"yeh nupur bhi na"

"haan kitne zor se chillyi. Main tho kitna ghabraagayi thi." Suhaani

"par woh spirit dukhtha hain ." benji added

"haan, lekin itne loudly scream karne jaisa nahin." Dia replied.

"chalo , bhagwaan ka laakh shukar hain usko kuch hua nahin," bui folded her hands to god.

Shilpa smiled at her , her face reflecting exactly the same feelings.

"haan, di teek hi hain."

"woh nurse ki haalat shayad teek nahin hain." samrat said and earned a angry glare from bui and gunjan but the others laughed.

" waise abhi mayank hain nupur ke saath tho woh chup hi hogi." Bauji said casually.

Everyone stared at him in silence for a few seconds.There was no anger, irritation or sarcasm in his voice. it was matter of fact. He didn't seem to realise that the friends were all extremely glad to hear him say that.he had actually used mayanks name without referring to him as woh ladka as he usually did. They all smiled at one another. gunjans eyes went moist. but bauji did not realise it. he sat down on one of the chairs and closed his eyes.

Shilpa smiled with a pride , well, it was her son after all. He always topped didnt he?!
