Part Nine - Suspense Revealed & Nupur's Support!

With the bright rays of the sun glowing her face and making her extra-ordinarily beautiful, Gunjan opened her eyes and closed them instantly when she felt the heat of the sun on her skin. "Ugh this sunlight!", she exclaimed in irritation, but just then,she sensed the temper of the sunlight decreased. She opened her eyes and widened them seeing Samrat pulling in the curtains.

"Didn't u go home last night?", Gunjan asked, shocked. Samrat sat opposite to her on a chair and said smilingly, "I went home last night and then came back early morning to take care of my best friend." Saying that,he pulled her cheeks gently and then asked her,"How r u feeling now?" "Better!", Gunjan replied with a slight smile.

"Sounds good,so get up and get ready. We'll go to office together." Samrat said delightfully. "But i thought u'll take care of me and suggest me to rest." Gunjan said and pouted innocently. Seeing that cute look on her face,Samrat laughed and said,"Well,i know u'll get better when u'll engross urself in ur works,so stop behaving like a kid and get up fast." As he said this,he went outside. Gunjan sighed and got up.

Samrat was putting the butter on the bread. "Uff ho! Why is she taking so long? I'm so hungry." he said impatiently and turned his face, and there he felt the moment had frozen. Gunjan, in a white salwar-suit with her hairs gathered in one side of her shoulder, came out of the room. "Samrat,i'm not finding my glasses,did u see it?", Gunjan normally asked Samrat looking here and there but getting no response,she directly look at his face. Seeing the way he was intensely gazing her,she lowered her eyes in uneasiness.

Walking near Gunjan,Samrat said to her softly looking deeply in her eyes,"Looking really beautiful!" and there, Gunjan felt his heart skip a beat. "Thanks!", she said in a whisper and Samrat could sense hesitation in her voice.

So to lighten up the environment,he took a step backwards and said innocently, "Gunjan, u took so long. U know how much hungry I'm?" Gunjan broke in a giggle and said sweetly, "Sorry for keeping u waiting." "It's okay!", Samrat replied with a smile.

They ate the breakfast,happily chatting with each other and as it was time for office,they left home. On the way,suddenly,something struck Gunjan's mind and she asked, "Samrat,can i ask u something?" "Sure!", Samrat said. "How did u manage to enter in my home?", Gunjan asked curiously. "Remember once u told me that u always keep a duplicate key of ur home at ur neighbour's place? So i had to disturb him last night." Samrat plainly replied. "Haw! What he must be thinking about us? I mean.. u know what i mean!" Gunjan said worriedly as well as uncomfortably. Samrat said with an i-don't-care smile,"Let them think whatever they want. People's job is to gossip and we should just ignore them!" "True!", Gunjan smiled at his assurance.

Samrat was signing some important papers. "Chalo,these papers r signed,now let me check what Gunjan is doing." he said to himself with a cute smile and headed towards Gunjan's cabin. As he turned right from the lobby,the sight he had made him shocked. "What the hell is Arnav doing here!" he said angrily.

As he came nearer to the doorway of Gunjan's cabin where Gunjan and Arnav were talking,he glared at Arnav. "Why have u come here?", he asked him rudely. Gunjan confusedly asked,"Samrat,do u know him?" "Yes! He's Arnav.", Samrat replied stiffly.

Gunjan was kind of shocked to realize that since 10minutes, she was talking with the person her best friend hates the most. "As all the maids are off,so Nupur requested me to take this lunch box to u! I just came here to give it. Warna,mujhe yaha aane ka koi shokh nahi hai.", Arnav replied while rolling his eyes and handing the box to Gunjan,he just left.

Samrat and Gunjan entered in Gunjan's cabin. "Why were u talking with him?", Samrat asked and fumed in anger more. Gunjan had never seen him this much angry before. She kept the lunch box on the table with trembling hands. Feeling a bit scared and nervous,she replied in a low voice, "Actually.. when.. he was walking towards the reception,i came out of my cabin and we bumped with each other.. and after that,we apologized and i don't know how we started chatting on just a miscellaneous topic."

Hearing Gunjan said,Samrat's anger had crossed all the limits. He turned towards her, grabbed her arms tightly and pulling her close to him,he said coldly,"Just. Stay. Away. From. Him!" Gunjan closed her eyes and said in a shivering voice,"It's hurting!"

Samrat realized that he was actually giving her pain, and quickly he left his grip on her arm. Gunjan opened her eyes slowly and seeing those beautiful pairs of eyes shining with tears,Samrat felt like cursing himself. "I'm sorry! I didn't mean to hurt u!" he guiltily said. Gunjan was on the verge of crying,so she just turned around facing her back towards Samrat and Samrat understood that he did absolutely wrong!

As he held her arms in the most gentle manner,Gunjan shivered as she felt scared. Samrat made her turn towards him and seeing oceans of tears streaming from her eyes at a high speed,tears formed in his eyes as well. Gunjan lowered her eyes and said innocently, "I'm sorry that i made u angry!" Tilting her chin up politely,Samrat brushed his thumb on her tears delicately and wiped them off. Gunjan felt a warm sensation inside her,feeling the caring caress of Samrat on her cheek,and soon she ignored it when he said, "I should be sorry for hurting u! Sorry!" Saying that,he bowed his head and Gunjan felt her heart contracted with immense affection. "It's okay!", she said with a slight smile and before Samrat could say anything else,she just hugged him tightly. Samrat was shocked at first but eventually he hugged her back with a content smile and kissing her forehead,he said,"I'll never do that again! I promise!"

After finishing the lunch,Samrat and Gunjan threw themselves on the couch as they felt tired and exhausted. "Gunjan,don't u want to know why i hate Arnav so much?", Samrat asked seriously. Gunjan stared at Samrat,being speechless at this sudden question. "U don't have to tell me if u don't want to!", she answered plainly. "But i guess i should tell u as u r an important part of my life!", Samrat firmly said and Gunjan felt honoured! She felt truly happy,getting such importance for the first time. "Okay!", she said and nodded.

Samrat rested his head on Gunjan's shoulder and entwined their fingers as he really need strength to remember his past once again. Expressionless and motionless,he said staring blankly at a point, "Arnav is the step brother of mine and Mayank!" Gunjan was shocked. Samrat continued,"10 years back,mom got to know about dad's illegitimate son Arnav! Yet she didn't left dad bcz of me and Mayank! She suffered a lot cuz she loved us,and one day,she breathed her last as her sufferings crossed all the limits! Due to excessive dose of sleeping pills every night,she expired! After her death,dad brought Arnav home. Since that day,every time i see Arnav,the lifeless face of mom flashes in my mind! That's why once i got a job,i left Shergill Mansion so that i don't have to face him!"

Gunjan felt like crying but she had to be strong for Samrat, she thought. She placed his head on her lap and kept on passing her hand in between his hairs. "We could not throw Arnav out of our house cuz before dying,dad gave him the power of authority of the entire Shergill property,but he doesn't care about it so Mayank takes care of everything! As Mayank had Nupur bhabhi's responsibility,so he tolerates Arnav quietly and just ignores him!", and with this,he finished telling about his past.

Samrat adjusted himself in a sitting position and his face lit up when he said,"U know what Gunjan? I'm feeling a lot better now! All credit goes to u!" Saying that,he encircled her in his arms. "I'm glad that i could make u feel better!", Gunjan said lovingly after breaking the hug and at last she kissed his forehead.

"Nupur,u should be on rest naa!", Mayank said with a frown on his face as he saw Nupur cleaning the dishes. "Mayank,it will just take 10minutes!", Nupur said,still busy in her work. "I don't want u to be here,not even for 10minutes,got it? And i want no further arguments!", Mayank firmly said and before Nupur could reply back,Mayank lifted her in his arms and took her to their bedroom.

"What r u doing Mayank? Get me down!", Nupur said irritatedly. Mayank placed her on the bed after adjusting the pillow. "Yeh kya tha?", Nupur asked making an annoyed expression. "Yeh pyaar tha!", Mayank replied with his killing smile making Nupur blush. "Why do u still blush after 4 years of our marriage?", Mayank asked confusedly. "I really don't know!", Nupur shyly answered. "Waise,u know what i want now?", Mayank mischievously asked,forwarding towards her. "What?", Nupur asked nervously as she felt alarmed. "I'm feeling like to make ur cheeks turn dark red,even darker than what it is now!", said Mayank naughtily and before Nupur could understand what he actually meant,Mayank captured her lips with his in a deep kiss.

Samrat,who was coming in their room,immediately covered his eyes and said teasingly,"I swear I didn't see anything!" Both Mayank and Nupur sprang apart and turned their faces at the doorway. "Samrat,why do u always land up in the wrong time?" Mayank asked irritatedly. "I just came to meet bhabhi!", Samrat replied innocently and giggling Mayank and Nupur told him to open his eyes.

Moving his hand off from his eyes,Samrat slowly opened them and smiled seeing his bro and sis-in-law giggling at him. He entered inside and said,"U guys should have closed the door!" Mayank glared at him and said, "Stop pulling our legs Samrat!" "Okay okay! I wont!" Samrat said smilingly and then he asked Nupur, "How r u bhabhi and how is my nephew or niece??" "We both are perfectly fine!" Nupur said with a huge grin and then facing Mayank,she said sweetly,"Mayank,can u please bring a glass of orange juice for me?" "Sure!", Mayank replied and left!

"Samrat,love doesn't always give pain!", Nupur said seriously. "Bhabhi.. you.. i mean.." Samrat fumbled with words and Nupur took out a diary from the drawer of the side-table. "How did u get my diary??", Samrat asked dumbfounded. "You left it here last night! *pause* Samrat,i just wanna say one thing that besides pain,love gives u happiness too. So,we should see the brighter side! Look at me and Mayank! We are very happy in our lives so why can't u start a new life with the love of ur life, Gunjan?", Nupur said intently. "I don't love Gunjan,bhabhi. She's just my friend!", Samrat said turning his face to the other side. "Look in my eyes and then repeat it again!" Nupur sternly said. Samrat was baffled!

Loved the way Sajan are always there for each other... that is what makes us love them even now, almost 10 months after they said that horrible goodbye to us. Nice update, girls. So Arnav is the step brother... hmm... nice one there. Please update soon. Would love to read what gift Samrat does eventually give Gunjan.😊
