this article has nothing to do with mjht.....but this is certainly an issue we should reflect on since our mjht actors are facing the same problems....i guess every mjhtian should read this.......it could probablby ease our mental debate where we can't distinguish between real & reel thus hampering an actors groW*H due to our unreasonable demands............its time we stop being judgemental ........

Are we suffocating actors with our love and bogging them down with our expectations?

When Karan Singh Grover did Kitni Mast Hai Zindagi he was another new lead actor, who managed to make a place for himself in the industry. Having done a few roles here and there in and outside the Balaji Camp, he eventually landed in the dreamy role of Dr. Armaan, and he took teenage girls all over by storm. There was not a single 16 year who didnt vouch for Armaan's undying love for Dr. Riddhima. So real became the character, that people didnt know where Armaan ended and Karan began. All good, since everyone loves praises and adulation! But with passing time, this liking seemed to have turned into an obsession for many fan girls, who all over seemed to only think Armaan and justify every act of his that he did on screen. No wrong action against the actor was tolerated, so much so that the makers of the show could never explore the character beyond what they had initially set for him. I am sure Karan loved all the attention he was getting from his fans all over, but at what cost did this name and fame come?

Your personal life is speculated about, your every action is read into and your every gesture is read and re-interpreted by a million eagle eyes who are more than ready to decipher what you could mean and intend, even if the person were not to open his mouth and say a thing. Kuch bolo toh problem, aur agar kuch na bolo toh aur bhi badi problem!

The latest update on Gurmeet Choudhary's blog is another good example. So much are the fans into the on screen chemistry he shares with his co-star on the hit show Geet-Hui Sabse Parayi, that they do not want to see him with his real life girl friend as well. Now the on-screen chemistry undoubtedly between him and his co-star is sizzling, and they do appear to share a fairly decent rapport offline as well, but how can that be a reason for people to abuse or say things about his real life girl friend? How can fans forget that the life of an actor ends after a shot, and a real life like yours and mine starts soon after? Just to see two people together on screen, and that makes you happy, isnt it a little selfish to want the same to turn into real? Fans would argue, its harmless! But how can you speculate the life of another human being, just because he/she is a public figure? How many of us would be like to be told what we should be doing in our personal life??

The above two actors are only small examples. There are other names of actors and actresses who are adored to the core by fans and audience. Its natutal to want to know more about your favorites, but whats the fun, when you use that information to satisfy what your minds wants to only see and believe?

Actors are paid to do their jobs not please fan fancies and tolerate reactions all in the name of love and concern. A fan may think he wishes well for an actor, but how much of your actor do you really know? Today they play one role tomorrow they will play another. The shelf life of an actor, espeically in a medium like Television, is short lived and most of them believe in making hay while the sunshines. Love your actor, respect him and appreciate him. Actors make an attempt to stay in touch with their fans as they realise the efforts that are made by them be heard. If this has to go on fans need to realise they cant go on the way they are at the moment.

I personally feel discussion boards and fan forums are the ground for these speculations and such places need to be moderated on regular basis. But then again, how long can you stop someone, if one place shuts shop another will open. What is needed is a personal check on the part of every individual who needs to understand and realise, his job as a fan ends at the point where the show ends on that particular day! Dont forget, your freedom ends where the other persons nose begins!

its really embarrassing to see the extent some fans go to to express their "love" for actors.......i know arjuns suffered probably the most and hes still been a sweetheart....people need to understand the difference between reel and real life.....its okay to say that you think their pair with a co-star is good and stuff but you dont do around giving the guy suggestions about how to lead their lives...moreover, you dont insult people in their lives who you know nothing about.....at the end of the day its the ACTOR whose going to live their life, NOT us.......we all can express our feelings but within our limits......its sad because these few people create a bad impression on all of us fans......naina

Ya I think that Arjun has sufferred the most!!!We know that the onscreen chemistry of Arti is just awesome, but then look at his blog half of the people bash him there, just speak about his costars rather than about his acting or his performance...Its just ridiculous..there must be a limit some where.......

Yep, a very sensible article. This is the exact case today. Instead of appreciating the story and acting, people tend to obsess over the "actor" in question. And this obsession makes them do some really obnoxious stuff too. And what is most disgusting is how fans start to dictate the lives of actors, who they work with, who they talk to, which shows they take up etc. So actually, the so called loyal fans tend to insult and hurt their favourite actors as a result of their obsession.
It's high time ppl draw the line between real and reel.

Indeed it is sad to see that the obsession over actors and some characters is becoming too much to handle for production houses or actors themselves....

I would say that online forums is hugely responsible for it....also the fact that gossips and speculations go too far and people get too serious for trivial issues is another thing....

but i wonder why only star one actors get so majorly affected by this? do the PHs and actors depend too much on what is being said and done on the internet?

Youth oriented shows have a small viewership...and the youth generally use the internet to know more...the sbs segments too sometimes gives fans ideas....and sometimes the PH themselves use tactics like spreading rumors to promote shows ....highlighting some actors and their friends.....overlooking some other actors completely....The way some Segments are scripted it does look they are trying to give out some hints...over friendly co stars....getting really touchy feely.....teenagers fall into the trap and react irresponsibly....but people would respect those actors who behave respectfully themselves...

Fans ARE at fault but i do think all these speculations have also been fed by some people for their gains...

I am one person who would never want to influence actor's life...I love and respect them for their work and want their acting capability to speak for them....

Just one request girls....dont assume anything from this article....it mentioned Gurmeet and KSG specifically...NO menion of arjun or his relationship status was done here...so please DONT assume....

very nyc article dear! i agree sometimes fans forget that at the end of the day they are human beings and need their share of space, privacy and life.I think those ppl who bash actors just coz the actor is seein sum1 else in personal lyf other than their costars or ppl who cant stand their favs. to be paired with other actors, really dont deserve to be called fans! coz LOVE is never conditional.
reading this article i know that my thought to always n forever love mohit and sanaya whether together or independently was so rite. the actors work so hard for their careers and we rubbish their hardwork by such silly notions. But i know, as far as monaya r concerned my love for them will never b biased like this.wud love to see their shows with other actors with the equal zeal n enthusiasm. n if in future *god forbid* if at any pt of tym sanaya n mohit think that they arent perfect for each other n thus they need to halt their relationship at that level...i'll still love them the same. i dont think their personal issues will have any effect on my love for them.😳 .

very well written..and very very true..

fans should learn drawing a line between fantasy and reality.

gurmeet's update was very sad, people have seriously crossed limits, and i don't think these people deserve to be called fans, they are obsessed.

if u love an actor, then respect his decisions..
