@bold -He can't imagine a moment without Gunjan, not a second, not a breath does he take without thinking of her, and that's all he wants in life - to be with her, to be around her, near her, if not with her. However long or short his life, that doesn't matter to him, the only thing he wants and needs is that she be there with him for that time. and whatever the road, whatever the ups and downs, he can bear them all, as long as she is there with him.

Leaving the phenomenal world behind, he has experienced some kind of a spiritual union with Gunjan. In fact, even physically speaking, he has become annhilated (I like the Arabic/Farsi/Urdu/Hindi word fana more than its English translation here). He has ceased to have his individual likes and dislikes - it's all about what Gunjan likes or dislikes. I wonder when did I last hear him say I like this rather than Gunjan will like it. Having loved her with such profound intensity, the distance between them is incomprehensible to him. Realizing that you never know how life will unfold, he reminds her that these moments won't come again so don't let them go. Although Gunjan is careful to maintain the distance between them, he can break away her essence from her and let it undergo a unitive experience with his own soul. Meaning, the physical Gunjan can then travel to the farthest city in the west but her spiritual essence will remain with Samrat.

@bold again - This part was the essence of Sajan for me, for both Samrat and Gunjan, and especially for Samrat these days ... the meeting of two souls, of their spirits .. it has always been this way, and now it's becoming even stronger. During s1, I commented more than once that the SG story was way too mature for a college romance, because it had so much depth in it ... in S2, their story is making the s1 story look like a bubble gum romance, because this one has even more depth and feeling. And the lines highlighted mujhko de tu mit jaane - his very identity has been submerged in her - although she called herself Samrat ki Chashmish, it's probably more accurate to say Chashmish ka Samrat, because he belongs to her so completely. And further - tujhe tujhse tod lun, kahin khud se jod lun ... are the ultimate essence again ... he carries her within himself, her essence, her spirit is with him always, whatever the physical distance between them ...

And you read SOOOOO well Ishita. Well you know what Ishita, I believe that even Gunjan has not loved Samrat the way he has loved her. Every character has emphasized his/her individuality. Nupur and Mayank have had their share of differences. Even Gunjan had second thoughts about Samrat in the Neil-track. But, to Samrat it doesn't even occur once that Gunjan might not be the right person for him. If he goes near her, it's for her happiness. Likewise, as you pointed out, if he distances himself from her, it's again for her happiness. In contrast to Samrat, all other three characters distanced themselves from their love interest saying they need to spend some time alone with themselves.
