One thing that the creatives are good at is choosing the perfect song for Samrat and Gunjan. So, I thought why not try and give an interpretation of "Dil Ibadat..." in Samrat-Gunjan context? Mohit's expression has inspired the following interpretation. If you pay close attention to Mohit's expressions, Samrat's in a different world while Gunjan's narrating the story to him. Here it goes...
Dil Ibadat Kar Raha Hai
Dhadkane Meri Sun,
Tujhko Main Kar Loon Hasil Lagi Hai Yahi Dhun.
Zindagi Ki Shakh Se Loon Kuchh Hasin Pal Mein Chun
Tujhko Main Kar Loo Hasil Lagi Hai Yahi Dhun
Nothing else could describe Samrat's current condition better than these verses. Gunjan really needs to listen to his heartbeats, cuz I think she fails to see with what intensity he yearns for her. About winning his love over again, I mean do I need to say that Samrat is completely preocuppied with that? He doesn't see anything before or after Gunjan. He wakes up with executing plans of making Gunjan happy and goes to sleep with devising new plans in his mind. His world truly begins and ends on Gunjan. And the memorable moments that he picks can be nothing but those he has spent with Gunjan.
Jo Bhi Jitne Pal Jeeyu
Unhe Tere Sang Jeeyu
Jo Bhi Kal Ho Ab Mera Use Tere Sang Jeeyu
Jo Bhi Saanse Main Bharoo Unhe Tere Sang Bharoo
Chahe Jo Ho Rasta Use Tere Sang Chalu
Samrat has aspired nothing but Gunjan's companionship. In the film-track, Gunjan said that she is happy and content even if she has a simple life with Samrat, but Samrat has not only shown but also proved it. Mayank, Nupur and Gunjan were inspired byNeil's success. They all decided that they need to achieve similar heights, but Samrat was least bothered about it. In the entire sequence while other characters were busy making it big, Samrat's sole concern was to save his relationship with Gunjan, for he couldn't imagine himself separate from her. But life takes turns and you lose control. In one such drastic turn, he was separated from her for a whole lot of three years. As a consequence, he became a physical body without soul. Now that he is introduced to life again with the presence of Gunjan, he has attained a different level of realization. Knowing her significance in his livelihood, he just wants her to be around even if she's not with him. Take everything he has in exchange for a couple of moments with Gunjan and he's happy.
Mujhko De Tu Mit Jaane
Ab Khudse Dil Mil Jaane
Kyu Hai Yeh Itna Fasla....
Lamhe Yeh Phir Naa Aane
Inko Tu Naa De Jaane
Tu Mujh Pe Khudko De Loota.....
Tujhe Tujhse Tod Loo Kahi Khudse Jod Loo
Mere Jism O Jaan Main Aa Teri Khusboo Odh Loo
Leaving the phenomenal world behind, he has experienced some kind of a spiritual union with Gunjan. In fact, even physically speaking, he has become annhilated (I like the Arabic/Farsi/Urdu/Hindi word fana more than its English translation here). He has ceased to have his individual likes and dislikes - it's all about what Gunjan likes or dislikes. I wonder when did I last hear him say I like this rather than Gunjan will like it. Having loved her with such profound intensity, the distance between them is incomprehensible to him. Realizing that you never know how life will unfold, he reminds her that these moments won't come again so don't let them go. Although Gunjan is careful to maintain the distance between them, he can break away her essence from her and let it undergo a unitive experience with his own soul. Meaning, the physical Gunjan can then travel to the farthest city in the west but her spiritual essence will remain with Samrat.
Jo Bhi Saanse Main Bharoo Unhe Tere Sang Bharoo
Chahe Jo Ho Rasta Use Tere Sang Chalu
Dil Ibadat Kar Raha Hai
Dhadkane Meri Sun
Tujhko Main Kar Loo Hasil Lagi Hai Yahi Dhun
Just give him those moments with Gunjan even if it is one more day to live...
