was on the way to do the same...
I must have watched the last 2-3 days episodes atleast 3-4 times..and each time the intensity, the anguish , the haunting pain in his eyes, the emptiness were so clearly visible that they brought tears to my eyes....and as u so beautifully wrote...Friends turned into lovers....and now lovers turned into friends...that's the essence of these 2 beautiful ,but so complexed love stories.....stories which have all the elements needed to make them eternal love stories....be it friendship, passion, love, tears, laughter, destruction, obsession pain,,and piousness,....we've seen all these different shades of love in SG story ,it is this which makes it so similar to Devdas's story ....but as Aashi explained beautifully that the difference between Dev and Samrat is Samrat's positive attitude and never to give up spirit...If Dev gave up on Paro, Samrat will never give up on Gunjan and their love..
If u noticed ..Samrat was happy and relived that Gunjan choose such an intense, passionate love story for the play ....mayb because he felt that the intensity of this epic will bring out Gunjan s locked emotions..and this happened..when Gunjan was narrating the story to Sam ,without realizing it.she connected their story to Devdas's .It was then she actually faced the fact that what it would b like to b separated from Samrat forever....The hug was the result of that realization.
I totally agree with u , that this play will lead to Sajan reunion...now with Samrat withdrawing a little..Gunjan is forced to think..as to why he has changed, .this is slowly drawing her towards him...I don't know why ..but I feel we'll see a side of Gunjan , that we have not seen before..but are dying to see...Gunjan taking the initiative to bring out Samrat from the shell he's going into.. Gunjan fighting with Samrat's demons ..
I hope I've made sense...but phew that was a long reply I wrote 😆
